NOED is unhealthy for the game

Now I know people are going to say that it’s meant to counter gen rushing and that I should just cleanse the hex and I agree with both of those and am in no way saying that NOED is op. The issue I have with NOED is that it forces a play style for the survivors that is unhealthy. In the cases where you cannot find the totem before the gens get done (which is incredibly common when playing with randoms) after the exit gates are powered or opened you have to play super selfishly or die. If someone is hooked it is almost always the better option to just leave instead of looking for the hex or unhooking the survivor. That fact that NOED encourages survivors to play selfishly is a problem and that needs to be addressed as survivors should be encourages to work together and help one another.

While I dont entirely agree this problem could be fixed if small game gave a number of how many totems and traps are in a certain range of you

But I also run noed because people like to do gens instead of heal because adrenaline

Literally won a game because they decided to rush the gen that they unhooked right next to and one had adrenaline and tried to block

NOED is just the killer equivalent of Adrenaline.

One gives an extra health state and a speed boost, the other takes an extra health state and gives a speed boost.

The difference is that one has a timer and adds exhaustion, the other is a totem that can be destroyed after it activates or can be destroyed preemptively.

NoED doesn't even discourage gen rush. It just encourages you to get out ASAP, and increases the kill rate. I think it needs some reworking, though I'm not sure in what way exactly.

More unhealthy than noed is Survivors that ignore the second objective which negates all hex perks, many of which can be cancelled before activation.

10% speed increase and aura reveal after 30 seconds.

That is sincerely the change I would make. You either stop it from activating, or you haul ass to kill it or get out.

Just make it have a time limit (like adrenaline) or based off of tokens, such as getting four hooks on four separate survivors gives you four uses of NOED.

Sure, as long as it's no longer a hex that can be destroyed before it even has a chance to activate.

Forces a gameplay that is unhealthy... No.... it forces survivors to actually think about something other than doing the gens and people hate that.

NOED isn't even in play for most of the game. It's a gamble... the killer trades 1 of his perk slots for the possiblity of gaining a TON of power for the last 2 to 4 minutes of the game (longer if the survivors are idiots and 99 the doors)

To me, that's a fair trade.

Noed is a noob stomper perk. It has a high cost of a perk slot that doesn't activate till endgame, and a high risk of being destroyed early or right away. Both of these justify it's reward.

However, I will say it's unhealthy when used by facecampers, because even if you punish by doing gens, they will get an extra kill in end game, and they just got a 3k by standing still.1

Othereise, as a survivor main, I say it's fine.

I don’t see the big problem with it

You can almost predict wether a killer has noed or not.

lf the killer is downing people quickly and ending chases quickly chances are they arnt running noed.

lf the killer is struggling to get downs and hasn’t had many hooks, chances are they are running noed.

or just assume that every killer is running it.

The perk is seriously fine. It has counterplay, only activates if all gens are done.

It can be negated completely. The perk is very balanced. I hate to say it, but do bones or don't gen rush so hard.

Yeah it sucks to be hit by noed. Sure, but it's there and needs to be left as is. Hell to slow down the games even more they should add 5% movement speed instead of 5%....

I bet more people would do bones then.

If the team is bad... you play the game with 3 perks. I mean come on people.

Honestly, NOED isn't a counter for gen rushing, if say pop, discordance, and corrupt fit that bill.

NOED and a few other perks are a counter for adrenaline, hope and other perks.

The main issue is that NOED assists the killer in a big way whether they barely pressure survivors or do really well, where as the end game survivor perks don't do anything at all UNLESS the team does well. NOED = safety net, Adrenaline = hail Mary.

As a killer main, i would say NOED is a crutch perk. There for when you expect to not do great. Most will stop using it when they start doing well enough for it to stop coming in to play.

Survivors who run adrenaline tend to be on SWF and they use it very tactically. 99% a gen and pop it immediately after a survivor gets downed or hit. Because the survivors have control over when it can proc, they get more guaranteed value and it rewards teams that expect to do well

Man, people are STILL complaining about this perk?

I do not know who told you NOED is for countering gen riding but they are wrong, when you counter something you prevent it from even happening, and most gen rushes come from uneven pressure on the killers part but there are the occasional swf with brand new parts, however, NOED is for giving your killer extra lethality when you reach the end game, some killers like clown or wraith benefit more from this perk than others, for instance, it's absolutely useless on killers with insta downs in their kit like bubba, NOED while it's up turns the killer into a fearsome Hollywood movie killer, people play selfishly out of fear that they will die if they try to save a mate with NOED active so it does it's job right.

I do not think it is unhealthy, NOED is fine how it is, it has plenty of counterplay.

The 60 seconds of invincibility is unhealthy absolutely, but the new version is perfect.

Survivor main here, hear me out. Until a few months ago I used to think that NOED was an unnecessary safety net for poor-performing killers, now I think the contrary. Some points:

1-NOED is a reward for someone who played early and mid-game with only 3 perks and a well-deserved one. They could have Pop, Ruin, Haunted Grounds, but they have NOED.

2-This game is already snowbally enough, and NOED is one of the few perks that counter that. These perks are polarizing in the sense that they are either powerful and controversial (DS, UB) bc they can be weaponized to ruin the other's experience or underpowered/underappreciated (Desperate Measures, Coup de Grace, Fire Up). NOED hits a fine spot for me. It is a powerful high-risk high-reward.
