Should depipping get removed now we have MMR?

Now that MMR is in the game and our rank doesn't reflect our skill and who we are matched against depipping shouldn't be a thing anymore. Rank now reflects playtime so depipping doesn't make sense anymore regardless of how bad you did in a match because at the end of the day if you depip that won't reflect your time played.

So what should it be now? Instead of depipping you should just black pip, and if you black pip you still black pip. or perhaps the emblem system should be scrapped and you earn a pip for every 2-3 matches.

what do you think?

Wasn't MMR restricted for 24 hours? Did the devs turn it on again?

When MMR is implemented (it's not yet in the game) and the rank rewards will come in, you'll still be able to earn pips to improve your rank (not MMR) but you won't be able to depip and lose rank - that's the way it's currently planned, however, until it's actually implemented that might still change.

great thanks for the heads up, I was aware that rank would reset to 20 and at the end of rank reset we would get rewards but I still thought that the emblem system would apply meaning that we can still depip, and obviously rank not being associated to MMR.

    I think so.

One of the major problems with this game is no clear win state. You can complete a few gens, get out and depip if you played too safe.

You can play extremely well but die to save teammates and still "win" due to pips.

Same with killer, you can play too well and get a brutal killer from a 4k.

I think by removing the pips in its entirey it'd actually be easier for people to decide what is and isnt a win.
