How is swf fair in any way?

This a match I played a few minutes ago. I know I did a few mistakes but please tell me how swf groups like them are fair.

I know not every group is like this but it's just sad that stuff like this is even possible...

    Before I watch what are you rank and theirs? I got accused with solo teammates of Ben f a swf but I’m reality rank reset had us in very low ranks.

    Yeah, this is definitely something to look out for. On both killer and survivor I went back by two rank tiers instead of the usual one.

    SWF (Survivors W/Friends) is kind of a red herring. To hear those people in a SWF describe it, they are just a bunch of friends who enjoy playing together. It isn't about the competitive edge, and we shouldn't assume that. When it is pointed out that the CUSTOM GAME option exist specifically so you can go play with your friends, and that everything is unlocked and doesn't cost you any BP (and so on) they get testy and suddenly insist they cannot find anymore friends to round out a complete group of five.

    I play Solo mostly, but I do have a group of friends that SWF together now and then. Like everyone else we called out the Killer's position, where we saw objectives, coordinated our actions, and so on. We found quickly that the competitive edge was overwhelming. In general, on those rare occasions we play our rule is that we talk about anything OTHER than the game while on Comms. But more often than that, we go and play CUSTOM GAMES. We have found that our problem isn't getting enough people together, but often having too many so some of us spectate and wait their turn to cycle into the game. We enjoy the custom games more than regular matches because nobody gets testy, we can use smack talk, and they truly are just for fun. You can get away with certain behaviors among friends because there is trust.

    SWF Players who insist on playing in normal matches do it for the competitive edge. There is no point ins saying otherwise; why lie? It is true that not all SWF are equal, and many of them are still pretty bad as Players. However, they still have the competitive edge, and the longer they play together the better they get and the more honed that advantage becomes. Is it fair? That is a moot question in DbD because very little about this game is fair. Things just are they way they are and you adapt or die. What the SWF are is problematic. They are a bigger issue in that their existence and GROWING numbers are slowly but surely strangling Solo Players. Killers don't like facing a competitive edge and resent it, but they tend to adapt. The problem is that adapting to fight a SWF increases the amount of... you guessed it... Camping, Tunneling, and Slugging. Those three things are the most effective counter to a SWF, because normal play of Generator Pressure and basics are entirely stymied by the SWF's 5th Perk (Comms). So, Killers play meaner these days because they MUST play mean to get the same results. Killers have no idea who is in a SWF or not, because they don't tell us. Thus, most Killers go into every game assuming it is a SWF.

    I've often suggested, and will continue to do so, that the best solution to the SWF balance issue is as follows:

    1. Unlock a 5th Perk Slot for Killers whenever they face a SWF of 3+. This also informs the Killer it is a SWF and thus when that doesn't happen they don't have to play rattlesnake mean against Solo.
    2. Test this solution for a bit and if it is enough, great! If it isn't, other things may be added or tried such as adding an additional Generator requirement for SWF to open the gates.
    3. Ideally, I would love to see SWF set that they only work in either a group of (2) which are treated as Solos, and don't trigger a bonus to the Killer, or must be a group of (4) and do. I think the 3-Person SWF is a detriment to the game and punishes the Solos in a horrible way. I think their existence and how they treat the Red Shirt Solo has created a lot of angst and distrust among Solo Players. They hate SWF more than Killers do. :)

    It is as fair as playing solo against a killer running pink addons and stuff. Just eat it and move on to the next match.

    Well first thing I noticed is all are Clauds and all wearing the same cosmetics....lobby wouldn't have made it farther than that with me cause I would have dodged that #########.

    that actually depends. there are 4 types of swfs. Try-hard death squads, competent swfs, incompetent swfs, and not on comms swfs. incompetent ones and ones on comms are esentially similar to solo q.

    rank 17 killer explains everything you run tiles very badly do not even mindgame it just running in the straight line after survivor ,if you want to win you need to use slowdown perks or perks to snowball or killer with power that has snowball potential i know Sloppy is kind of slow down perk but cmon it is a billy there's literally no point of using it.I saw that you many times didn't hit survivors with you chainsaw you didn't even hit survivor that was standing still for like a second .So just get good and dont complain on the forums that SWF are OP.

    It's a feature, like any other. The concept of SWF cannot inherently be "unfair" lol, it's all about the player/s, just as it is with killer and solo q. And you can't control how people play, hence why toxicity will always exist in games like this.

    Best you can do is just move on.

    I'm not trying to be rude but from the gameplay it seems you made quite a few mistakes. I think it's more to do with practice here rather than SWF.

    Anything besides SWF groups on comms though. If it is a full SWF not using comms, then it is much more fair.

    Oh really? I thought bringing only 3 random perks is the way to win :) It's not like I'm at this rank because I don't have anything unlocked really since I play this account since 5 hours.

    The first thing that stood out to me was the fact they were all wearing the exact same cosmetics. That should've been the first red flag for you. Now that could literally just be 4 friends just memeing (as I've done with my friends many times, mostly just to see how the killer will react to us stood in a circle in killer shack) but it could also be a competent swf. Or something in between. Or 4 randoms who thought it'd be funny to match. Either way, I would've dodged just to be safe.

    That isn't even a SWF problem, that's just matchmaking pairing you up against people who have more hours than you. Even if all of them were solo survivors you would've still lost because they played the game much more better than you did.

    You know, I hated SWF too, until like a year ago, I realized...

    Why the hell does it matter? It's a video-game. Most of the time SWF are just people trying to have fun with their friends. Do some groups play extremely sweaty? Sure, but that doesn't mean we should just get rid of the option entirely. Some Killer's play extremely sweaty against obvious Solo Queue lobbies. Should we get rid of them too?

    I don't see anything the survivors did that was unfair, except maybe team up with their red-rank pal to get a lower rank killer. Of course with Rank Reset being a roulette, that might be the issue here. Also those groups can and do often get Red Rank killers too.

    You made quite a few mistakes, including running a loops in a way that allows survivors to get more use out of them. You also really need to learn to get more out of a chase. At one point you abandon the shack to go back to the hook, instead of trying to force the shack pallet -- which comes back to bite you later on. There's nothing wrong with going back to the hook, but sometimes a pallet is worth more than a save and if you can get them to drop shack pallet that's a huge resource to expend.

    These are things you'll learn with time. (Better to learn now, though, than later. Because bad habits are harder to break when you've been at them a long time)

    no offense, but your gameplay wasnt the best. literally the first chase you’re going around the LT wall the wrong way letting the claudette get the fast vault every time.

    sure they’re swf, but it looks like the loss was more on your skill rather than the latter

    I've been playing Killer a lot more recently because I'm just about done with Solo survivor queue (it's just nothing but misery with constant camping and tunneling). I'm only Rank 12, but I understand feeling demoralized by SWF groups. Today I had to put the controller down and go lift weights for awhile because I encountered my first SWF flashlight bully squad. I down my first survivor and literally 3 of them were blinding me from all angles constantly.

    The other problem is how there are always red rank survivors slumming it with their lower rank friends so they can ensure a low rank Killer. I didn't have a single match today without a red rank survivor in the Lobby. Usually, there would be a Rank 1, a Rank 4, one in greens (my level) and one around 13. I'm a red rank survivor myself, and I have never, ever teabagged a Killer I knew was obviously a much lower rank than I behind a pallet, or at a gen like we saw in your video. I don't teabag regardless usually because it's rude, but doing it while knowing your taunting someone who is obviously still learning makes you a scumbag imo.

    That being said, what might have helped you in this scenario is to learn when the red rank looper is baiting you to chase them so they waste your time. That happened to you being looped thru the double windows and the shack. Some of these jackasses will also spam click their flashlights at you to annoy you into following them because they know every strong loop on the map, or they're on PC and have more mobility than console (360's). Don't take the bait no matter how annoying they are. In order to be matched with you, they need to go in with at least one potato friend, and they will do everything to get you away from them. So pick off the weak if you can. Sometimes it can snowball because SWF are uber altruistic.

    If all else fails and they're toxic as hell (I mean worse than above, which were mildly irritating, because they do get far far worse), you can start on the scummy tactics yourself. I did for the first time today because I had just had it with the abuse of the matchmaking system (or maybe not abuse, but how crap it can be), and I went into one match on Spirit and the survivors started dancing around me with flashlights, doing gens right in my face as I was on one of their friends- tea bagging me at every turn. But I caught the first one, and a friend tried unhooking him in my face just after one of his team mates broke Haunted Ground (everyone was exposed). Downed the second one- I camped the ######### out of those 2 hooks. I showed no mercy. Was someone rescued fresh off the hook? Oh well! Down you go.

    Ended up with 2k, 2 disconnects. Of course there are SWFs that are just a few friends playing a game together. But all too often, the fun they have seems to be at the Killer's expense. Not because they all escape, but just the rudeness and unnecessary crap they do to show off etc.

    Frankly it isn't, but that's the devs fault , they'd rather try and keep solos and swf separate instead of doing what is necessary to get the game out of this issue , survivors need to be more unified , killers better equipped ,, then we will see where this game can really go

    The issue with your example is killer need to always assume its a swf survivor should always assume the killer is running the best bossible addon too.

    The other thing pink addon are not the best addon for a lot of killer

    A trick next time when you are in a TL cut in the middle you should do better in that.

    Dont say you make some mistake you cant play this game perfectly too many thing are stack against the killer mostly the map.

    If someone say they play this game perfectly they are liar

    You do know BHVR has official SWF chats on their discord, right? BHVR knows these "third party audio coms" exist and they embrace them.
