Because it is. Undying is worthless now. With Haunted Grounds you'll get at least the exposed status.
Thats the thing you got wrong killer are on a timer not the survivor so if your team get kill you were going to get kill either way

When running undying, the first hex that is destroyed will always be undying first.

Why are we acting like totems are hard to find without perks?
My thoughts exactly when I see post about finding totems.
But apparently there are still people who have a hard time finding totems in high ranks 😂
The spawns are either to damn obvious or just right in the open.

First of all, as mamy said, let's state it.
Detective's Hunch is the best anti totem perk, hands down. It blows any other one, including counterfofce, out of the water.
The major thing going for Counterforce is quicker cleansing and even faster the more totems you do. Even if it didn't have any aura reading it would still be a worthwhile perk to run if you know totem spawns.
Same thing with BBQ, most people run it for the points not the aura.
I always try to do at least 3 totems per round - but I won't be using Counterforce. I don't waste perk slots to help me find totems. I solo survivor approx 90-95% of my survivor games and either use a map or just keep an eye out for totems. The last time I had NOED activate was in March 2021 - I love totems - good/quick xp and can get those pesky Hexes out of the way. I don't think after a week or so after release that many people will bother with Counterforce. If people wanted to do totems - they would already be equipping Detective's Hunch or Small Game.
I rarely get hit with NOED and i always play solo. I am not even hunting totems that much.
You can still have two Haunted ground in one game with the current Undying
You get 3 lit totems, 1 is undying and the other 2 are haunted.
No matter what hex totem they cleanse, it will and shall always be undying first and the next hex they cleanse will be haunted.
And since undying is gone, haunted won't spwan anymore.
So how do you manage to get haunted ground 2 times then? 😉🤔
Counterforce as a totem finding perk is terrible.. it will literally give you the least efficient path for cleansing totems, leaving a single person pretty much out of the game for several minutes. you'll be crossing the entire map 5 times; you'd probably be better just putting that person on gens and leaving ruin up...
If they do cleanse haunted totems first (yes, even if undying is present, hexes have specific totems still), it triggers haunted first, then triggers the undying effect and respaesn haunted grounds once again to be broken. It has only 33% chance to fail each game.
What people said: There might be brief use of it cause of the novelty, but... there are so many perks out there that are genuinely helpful, whether you are in a swf or solo, and still people don't use them becaise they are so dead-set on their second-chance perks.

With the new undying you don't have a choice as it will always be undying first that you cleanse, until undying is gone you can't cleanse haunted first.

There are 4 survivors and 5 totems. If everyone does a totem, you won't lose more than a couple of seconds.
Lightborn completely counters flashlights, firecrackers and the new perk. Killers still don't use it and proceed to complain about said things.
It will be the same exact thing with counterforce. No one will run it but we'll still have complains about hex perks. Stop panicking every single time a perk doesn't sound completely useless. The sky is not falling.
What prevents the other survivors from cleansing totems or taking totem tracking perks?
If Undying is cleansed first ok no second Haunted Ground, but if Haunted Ground is cleansed first, Undying will become a second Haunted Ground.

Did people stop playing Oni or slugging or running hex perks because of soul guard?

Small game is in an amazing spot as an anti-totem counter- been using it for the archive and the counter in particular is incredibly powerful- I know when to stop bothering seeking out totems as well as where they are so minimal time is wasted.
I wish killers had more/stronger options to disable survivor perks in the way that survivors can do to killers.
Seems like the team with 16 perks between them shouldn't have such a strong advantage over the team with 4 but idk.
...exactly, and everyone was freaking out about how much soul guard would counter hex perks. And what happened? Nothing. Nothing happened because nobody ran soul guard. Gonna be the same with counterforce

Yeah I can understand that but they nerfed it some time ago.
The scenario you are saying is not possible anymore.
Right now undying will always go first.
Not second, not third, not fourth but always as the first hex that will be cleansed.
Undying will go first 100% of the time, so you will only have 1 time haunted ground.
It used to be possible but not anymore.
Did you never wonder why it was always haunted that they cleansed as first every single time?
It won't be pointless. People thought the same thing after the Small Game buff but it's not the case. It's an aura perk that shows the farthest away totem, which could take forever to go and reach depending on the map.
There's 6 perks to run form the new licence, some which I think are a lot better overall. Flashbang perk and Jill's trap perk seem like perks people would more likely run.
Either way I can't wait for the new licence.

With the old Undying I could have 3 times the Haunted Ground. Because my hex was teleported to other dulls totems.
Now Undying replace the hex which is cleansed.
So I can still get two Haunted Grounds.
Undying is NOT always the one which is cleansed first. It feels you that way because when ruin is cleansed first, undying become another ruin.
You should read again the perk. And try the build, it still works.
