And the devs continue to be quiet

Maybe try a different, more transparent approach then? For example: "We are taking x,y,z steps to achieve an average 60 fps on all platforms, a process that began in march 2019 and we´ve accomplished a,b,c and are currently finishing up d,e and f. We´re happy to announce that it could be finished at x date (no confirmtion though as unexpected problems can arise along the way)".

Well, you can always vote with your wallet. That's what I'm doing now too, not spending any dime on this game until issues are adressed.

  • YatolYatol Member Posts: 1,411

because it takes time, if they rush to fix everything we will just get a game thats even more unplayable

  • Liam282Liam282 Member Posts: 135

Jesus guys, a simple look at the credits and you'll find the answers to the roles each person on the team has. Mandy and the other moderators here primary job is to keep things civil and if something comes up from us that raises concern it goes to their higher ups (community manager) Now, obviously the devs are right now working on their stuff and radio silence is usually a thing that happens when you're doing your work. (college assignments anyone? lol) give them the time they need to fix the spaghetti unreal engine code and fingers crossed we get some fixes soon. Having only half a dlc you paid for actually working sucks but i rather it work properly than crash.

Hey now anytime someone gets on here with a problem she is the first to respond and try to solve it. Lets calm that ######### down.

  • chargernick85chargernick85 Member Posts: 3,171

Boom right there next to all the other that barely say #########. no offense. So get off her back.

    Recolorizing skins is more lucrative.

They speak. You just don't listen or don't like the response.

I don't code. I will be the first to admit that and I am aware that even a semi colon out of place or even a period, a typo, etc. However, I will say that they could hire more or more experienced coders. Heck, as someone said on another post, they could reach out to Warframe devs and see if they could help or provide some insight because I'm sure they would be willing to - especially since they're a SMALLER Canadian developer than BHVR. It's not hard to at least TRY to connect or find better coders out there. Get on Reddit and you'll find someone.

  • GrimmGaliardGrimmGaliard Member Posts: 258

You seriously bring up Warframe? I've played Warframe years longer than Dbd and there are STILL bugs in there from my first year. Warframe has to constantly patch after every frame and update comes out because something is broken! When Sevagoth came out, I couldn't move every time his ult ended and I had to wait until the patch came to fix it so I could use his full kit. Warframe needs help themselves, they don't have the luxury of helping out.

"Better coders" doesn't work like that. Coding is such a complex network that someone could be the best at coding the algorithm for bloodwebs, but useless at finding the bug that causes chests to not spawn items. It's highly doubtful that someone plucked off Reddit or another insecure spot will have the specific expertise required to work with this tangled mess of a code in game and fix every single problem there is.

What I'm trying to get at is: There's very often a reason that simple and easy proposed solutions haven't been tried yet.

  • kazzymoyashikazzymoyashi Member Posts: 126

At least Warframe DOES bug patches that actually fix the important stuff compared to the BHVR devs who introduce new bugs every single patch. Yes, I realize it's going to happen, and yes, I know there are reasons why simple and easy solutions may not have happened. However, we have been promised optimization on all platforms since 2019, and this chapter only made it worse - this supposed hotfix didn't even actually address the frame-rate issues. Those are the things that need addressing and it has been long overdue, but because it didn't affect the ENTIRE fanbase, it didn't matter. That's the frustrating part; add on that this hotfix came out on a Tuesday, as scheduled, when the definition of a hotfix is to get it out asap to try and fix the issue (a.k.a. send out a 500mb update if it helps fix a few problems) - that's what should be happening.

    That sounds incredibly hostile.

she never said she was a developer of the game. But when people ask for the devs to be more transparent or they should talk more to the community that’s when those people use the word ‚devs‘ wrongly as this is part of the tasks of the community managers and moderators and not the devs, as they are the ones with direct contact to the users.

So it’s pretty natural for MandyTalk to feel spoken to/about in this case even though the word ‚devs’ was used and why she responded that way.

Something some of you have to realize is this:

Yes, Mandy is a dev. However, she isn't a dev working on the game itself. She's kind of like the "mouth parts" of the dev TEAM. She tells us things from the big boys and girls on campus, keeps us in the loop, and maybe even tells them our side as well.

She can't do it all, because that isn't her job.

Ok, far too many people are losing sight on what the core issue is with DBD. Lots of people are getting too hung up on coding and what it takes to patch a game, when the real issue here is that we have to keep going back to this never-ending well of BHVR releasing broken chapters that require constant fixes. Pissed off consumers aren't the bad guys here, it's BHVR.

The very fact that the new map is still unplayable is ridiculous. We just paid for a new chapter that should have came with a new map, and yet here we are a week after release and it's still unplayable unless you're doing a custom game. BHVR was also quick to fix the cosmetics bug, but not the poor performance still plaguing the game. Clearly there's more involved when it comes to performance than simple cosmetics, but it all sends a terrible message to the player base. BHVR clearly does not quality test these chapters, and ensuring that fun glitches like cosmetic swapping is what gets "fixed" first prior to much needed performance patches, again sends the wrong message of what is considered a priority.

Like many of you I spent money for the new Resident Evil chapter, but with the new map being disabled and the game running poorly - especially if you're playing as nemesis - has made me hold off on playing the game altogether until this [BAD WORD] gets fixed. Personally I think they should do more than simply give free blood points, they should also extend the rift.

You weren't listening: Warframe creates more bugs each patch too. Some are game breaking and their UI update to consoles still has problems that they haven't addressed. Their open world, for instance, is a buggy mess. My friend just grinded to get an archgun and it's bugged out the waz. Larkspur got glitched out and disappeared when he used his mech. Host migration causing people to lose progress. Being stuck for an entire mission because you glitched through something or into something. I could go on far longer but to say they actually fix the important bugs and Dbd don't, is just wrong.

You again don't understand that they have to find, recreate and solve what's causing the issue. The deadline for this hotfix to come out is Tuesday, so they were only able to push out the fixes that were actually done. The dropping frame rate IS mentioned as something they're working on, but rushing them doesn't make it better. It makes it worse. You don't rush someone to boil an egg or it just comes out wrong. And you don't hire more people to boil one egg because you think it'll finish quicker.

  • GrimmGaliardGrimmGaliard Member Posts: 258

They've also been diligently churning out patches for 5 years to fix things. New things break and new things need to be fixed and almost none of them can be done instantly. It's not that ######### hard to understand. The real problem is that they won't stop to make a health chapter

Does this mean RCPD will be back? I assumed it would be back today since the timer for the free BP expired today. Hopefully it'll be back soon.

    High IQ post.

Some of the posts here (on the forum in general, I'm not specifying this thread or even any specific users) are really demanding. I understand that it's frustrating to wait and wait and keep waiting, hoping for word from the developers on issues that are causing inconvenience or irritation. But everyone should know that it is not standard procedure for most companies, gaming or otherwise, to release repeated statements that just keep saying the same thing (in this case, "we're aware of the issues and trying to fix them".

People need to understand: If things get fixed, the fixes will be published. Until that time, if things are not to the company's satisfaction, making another statement saying the same things would just be redundant and help nothing. It's impossible to specify exact dates when things will get worked out because that's not something that anyone can predict with certainty, including the developers. So they can't give dates. And if things are still in progress, there's nothing they can say. They've acknowledged that they're aware of the issues, they've taken steps to address them, and apparently are continuing to do so. We just have to be patient.

i mean they answered some of my posts, but i can feel and understand

  • kazzymoyashikazzymoyashi Member Posts: 126

That's the thing - I agree with you that they need to stop producing chapters and literally focus on game health. However, that's the very thing we have tried to fight for for the last freaking 2 years in regards to optimization, but BHVR doesn't care. I realize things take time, but bullroar if it takes 2 god damn years and they released HOW many killers and updates? We are agreeing with you, but they just don't care and people are honestly getting tired of waiting. Essentially BHVR's response to the optimization is buy the new gen consoles. That's the bullroar we are dealing with here.
