I mean, it's hard to celebrate a simple change that should have happened years or at least months ago.
lucky break has a similar (extremely powerful) effect and almost no one uses it.
Lucky break is a one time use perk. And it only effects the survivor who has the perk not the whole team
No offense to anybody but its simply because this forum is full of entitled killer mains. On other social medias the tenor is quite different. Here they find a way to moan about everything, even tho this is another killer sided patch. I mean, who cares about Hatch and Key nerf plus plenty of other killer buffs when they change Spirit that she has counterplay? So unfair.
Do we need to turn every thread into a killer vs survivor argument? Perpetuating that crap is unnecessary and it got old long ago. Both sides have players that do nothing but complain, both sides have players who are reasonable, and a lot of people don't main anything and actually play both sides.
The key and hatch changes are nice but how long did it take to implement after moris where changed.
I think also think it is being overshadowed by boon totems and other changes.
How is this a killer sided patch? When they are making spirit easier to go against. Survivors are getting movable hex totems they can rebless once the killer puts them out. These totems alloy survivors to heal 100% faster. But it's killer sided
I mean, proof me wrong. While this is definitly a killer sided patch, most complains still come from killers, so?
I dont know, read the patchnotes? Boon totems are a complete wildcard at this point, we know almost nothing about them but that it takes almost 20 seconds to ignite and less then 2 seconds to destroy.. Could be good for survivors, could be irrelevant.
The rest of it... Plague buff, Trapper buff, countless small buffs and to top it all off a hugh Key and especially hatch nerf. Feel free to name a few survivor buffs that come even close to the hatch nerf.
(I am not saying that i disagree with the Hatch / Key nerf, i think it is healthy for the game, but yet it is definitly a very killer sided buff)
It takes 12 seconds to bless a Totem. And destroying is quick. But the fact that totems can be re blessed is a huge problem. Just as it would be a huge problem if hex perks would be able to be rebuilt.
So? Seriously, so?
There are complaints from everyone about every buff and every nerf, and there are both buffs and nerfs that affect each side in this patch. You accusing one side of being the louder complainers adds nothing to the conversation except to perpetuate a very tired way of dismissing either side's concerns. "Oh, you only say that because you're a survivor main." "Oh, you only say that because you're a killer main."
There are things in the upcoming patch some people don't like. Boon totems are the big new thing being added, a totally new way of interacting with totems. So of course everyone is talking about it, that's what most of the PTB threads are, and there's both positive and negative feedback.
Negative feedback is almost always louder than positive feedback simply due to the psychological nature of humans to feel more strongly when their feelings are negative. Anyone who deals with people in general can tell you that.
Maybe, maybe not. How much have you tried them out on PTB to judge yet?
Its a brand new concept and i wonder why some already call them "overpowered" or "useless". Reminds me of people who called the Clown overpowered back in the days after he was released.
This is the healing totem https://v.redd.it/n86edxlun9q71
They made up such a small percentage of escapes but killers complain about anything survivors get that makes them not feel like they can dominate people for free so
Because we been waiting for key nerfs for like, what? A year now? And when we finally get it they come with horrible changes.
How can people be excited for key nerfs when they should of already happened a year ago? It's not like these changes were hard to put into the game, why did they wait this long when Mori's were instantly nerfed?
Just because you gave us something we should of gotten a year ago, doesn't mean I am going to pat you on the back especailly when you try to slip in even more objectives for the killer while also nerfing killers that don't even need nerfs.
Wasnt a key change it was a hatch change. Does the same job of nerfing a broken abused mechanic though.
It was a key change, though. It was given a charge time to open the hatch and the hatch spawn requirement is clearly meant to be, and effectively is, a key change.
Most basic key&hatch change for the time we waited. This exact change has been suggested so many times.
I was expecting something more for how long it took.
Couldn't have said it any better
Yeah I get that, but they literally say this in the patch notes
Developer notes: The hatch change is effectively the much asked for Key nerf in disguise,
its a hatch change.
It's a great change, but it's probably because it's not the key change, it's a key change, meaning we'll see the key change later on.
But yeah in all seriousness, it's a good change and I'm grateful.
I would take keys and hatch as they are on live over a 5 second heal with a green medkit anyday. Survivors healing mid-chase is going to be a nightmare far far worse than the rare 3 man escape at 1 gen left.
They did change keys:
You now have to open the hatch like your opening a chest so its no longer instant.
That being said for the thread's Poster:
These changes are a year late. So its a lot harder to be excited for them when they are so long past due.
Well things changes I don't see reason why any of those needs to talked about for days things comes and goes
I'm pretty sure there are bigger problems then bigger things solved.
Too busy complaining about boons now.
Because the Key change wasn't the important part. The important part was that the hatch can no longer spawn with more than one survivor in the game. Killers weren't complaining about ONE survivor escaping with a key at the end. They were complaining about 3 survivors getting out cause the morons got themselves stuck into a 3 gen. The key change is irrelevant.
The key change is also massively overshadowed with the new Boon perks which are old Ruin levels of overpowered.
Personally, I feel no one is discussing it because we all agree it was a much needed and wanted change across all sides... except for maybe people that were shamelessly tossing Keys back and forth.
I'm just grateful I did that Rift Challenge of escaping through the Hatch with a Key 2 times before this change because it just 1000% times more difficult, but again, I never agreed in a four man escape through the Hatch with a Key being a thing in this game.
Exactly. This is something that should have been implemented either with the mori change or soon after. After all, it took several months and the only thing they did was a key animation and hatch spawn change. I'm glad that they finally implemented the change overall as it is more balanced now but things like this (along with several other things over the years) is why the development team at BHVR somewhat get negative criticism.
You think no one cares because we haven’t made 600 posts saying so? I’m happy for the nerf but I’m not gonna make a post about it. I’m also concerned about the broken stuff they are adding in along with the key nerf. We can be happy about one thing and unhappy with another at the same time.
