Possible fix to camping, yes or no?

Hi I’m a player who’s about 50/50 survivor/killer, one thing I hate in both is bad sportsmanship especially camping hooked survivors. How would people feel if in order to discourage killers from camping hooks and ruining the game for everyone while they are in a certain radius to the hook the sacrifice timer will be paused a la camaraderie/kinship so killers have to maintain a distance from the hook if they want to win the game. As a survivor I feel this would prevent one of the biggest downsides to this game and as a killer who tends to leave hooked survivors to allow an enjoyable game I wouldn’t have any problem with it. Eager to see what the devs and community think about this.

Camping is a problem but gen speeds can be too, so we need to fix both otherwise fixing one would make the other even more problematic and easy to get away with.

This would just allow a killer to hold someone hostage, especially if they were an instant down killer like Bubba.

Also camping isn’t bad sportsmanship, just how doing gens fast isn’t either lol.

I think he means when the killer is within a certain radius of the survivor, not another survivor

How about if you could see the killers aura if they were camping like with kindred but only while the radius was active?

I can imagine they would, toxic players are everywhere

Yeah people would loop around the hook so that the hooked survivors timer would just not run down

Doesn't work. Because if a survivor is rushing the hook you aren't supposed to let them grab the person. Then the survivor can sit there while the hook timer is paused because you don't wanna let them unhook

survivors can already counter camping by unhooking in group

one fake the unhook action, get hit by the killer, and while the killers does the wipe animation, another survivor unhook

Wont work, as many have already mentioned survivors would abuse the heck out of it, purpousely running loops in close proximity so the timer its frozen while the other people would just rush gens and screw the killer.

The situation is that camping and tunneling sadly are tactics many times are needed THANKS to the gen rush and other tactics the survivors use.

Theres a heavy problem on the game that an "undesired" playstyle generates scorn from the opsing side and in answer they create their own "undesirable" style wich just creates a loop of "undesirable" playstyle. The problem wont dissapear until the devs decide to tackle the balancing problems on the game. Both sides need to be looked at, but survivors need to be the first ones to set up a ground for that.

They should fix killer camping where if the killer is withing 16 meter of the survivor the timer will not go down.

Guarding a hook isn't unsportsmanlike. I agree being on a hook can be boring for the survivor though, that's just an unfortunate flaw in the game design where part of the game is people being unable to contribute for up to a minute or two at a time. (It's one of the reasons I just play killer, there's much less downtime.)

Have an idea for a perk that would punish campers

Regarding campers, I will say that these are players who are at the very bottom, adhering to the tactics of noobs

Using survivors for bait is fair play. How effective the strategy becomes is on the survivors.
