I'm not saying that the smartface is racist. But there's not way you're justifying racism overall by saying "Besides, every single person on this freaking planet is racist in 1 way or another...".

That's the most ignorant thing I've heard all week.

Really? This again? This is like the 20540th thread on this subject. If this isn't bait, then all Leatherface cares about is faces, not their color. If he sees you with your face still attached, then he will come for it no matter who you are.

Hence the "barring a few isolated incidents" part of what I said. It is not something that is common or that people do publicly. If some racists do it at a white supremist party, copying that style from the vaudeville era, yeah, it can happen. This is not that.

Not going to bother to read 90% of this, but please note the person who made this thread is obviously trolling... It's literally a fresh account made for trolling purposes.

Oh yeah right sorry. White people are allowed to get killed and there face getting cut off but black ones not. Makes sense. Equality

Why is everyone so sensitive these days? It's unbelievable.

Just because the skin color of Claudette is black/dark, it's racist when you use it on Bubba?

I guess nothing is safe against cancel culture these days, even a game. Sad.

People are just getting more crazy everyday by calling everything with a different color racist. I don't think that's a world I want to live in, tbh. Just treat eachother with respect, regarding the skin color of someone. Acts matter, not your skin color.

Crystal generation at its finest. They don't like something and they do their best to label it as something bad to have it taken down.

Just because you don't like Bubba's Smartface, it doesn't make it racist...

If I had to call every single man in the world homophobic because I didn't like how they talked to me...

    Stop the useless witch hunt.

I want to remind everyone to please be respectful, this goes for people commenting and the poster themselves - opinions can differ and people can have different feelings about things. Let's just remain respectful and civil about it.

This is, quite literally, the most mind boggling statement and the most worthless argument I have ever seen in my entire life. I just cannot see why this statement was made by an actual human being, it's mind-#########.

Bubba is a scared and frantic individual who kills to protect his family and wears the skin of his victims' face, I can grantee you that Bubba wouldn't give two flying ######### about the colour of the skin of the person he just killed.

If you genuinely think this way than I heavily consider looking at this from a different angle my friend, and try not to make an absolute fool of yourself

Bubba is Bubba, he wears people's faces as masks regardless of their skin colour, just leave to poor boy alone.

This has recently become a big issue and debate on Twitter. Most people I've seen defending this are saying that's it's not Bubba or the cosmetic itself that is racist, but the way people are using it.

People are claiming that others are using the cosmetic to, in fact be racist, on purpose. Now I haven't seen any proof of this yet, but that is what has been claimed multiple times.

Several POCs on Twitter are upset over the cosmetic, and if you're not POC, you're not allowed to form an opinion or be upset over the removal of the cosmetic, as it does not effect you (according to them). If you're not a POC, you're not allowed to tell them what they can/can't be upset over. The whole situation is ridiculous if you ask me.

Intent is what makes something racist, Bubba is not intending to be racist by wearing Claudette's face. In fact if anything he is being inclusive, he is a cannibalistic psycho with the brain of basically a small child, he can't even comprehend what 'racism' is.

All forms of logic scream you are objectively wrong, and are trying to blow smoke so people think there is a fire.

Your post is full of assumptions, that you have no ground to claim is fact. The cosmetic itself is not blackface, in no way is the creators of the cosmetic or the fictional character "leatherface" using claudette's face to imitate and make fun of black people.

Always looking for stuff to attack and be offended by is not making the world a better place. We see trough this false virtue signaling, just stop it and give your mom a call and tell her how much she means to you. (That last part was not meant to be mean, its a nice gesture everyone should do more often.)

You can't know the intent behind WHY someone would wear it unless they express so, like being racist in the in game chat. And frankly no, being a certain race does NOT entitle you to exclusivity on commenting or feeling a certain way about any topic, even ones specifically talking about racial issues. That right there is not equality but a special pedestal they are placing themselves upon by choice, nothing about that is fair or equal. If any other race, ESPECIALLY white people tried to say this, they'd be mocked and rightfully so. Twitter is once again full of nothing but pure juvenile narcissistic morons.

Not one person has suffered because of Bubba's cosmetics, and anyone pretending otherwise wants to be a victim for free attention and special treatment. Period.

Racist huh? You're the one over here calling it "Blackface" rather than calling it by it's actual name.

  • sneksnek Member Posts: 180

the only reason people find blackface funny is because how 13yo snowflakes like you get triggered over everything you see and rush to cry on twitter

there always will be widespread racism - just as there always will be homophobia, etc - until you stop shoving it in other people's faces and stop getting offended by something that most likely never conveyed racism or other forms of discimination in the first place

posts like this (as well as the whole twiiter) keep racism alive - you're the part of it

  • InspireInspire Member Posts: 123

Racist keep racism alive. Not the people conversing about it.

Agrees, why hasn't this been closed? There is on one hand voicing opinions, making topics, suggestions and then there is just this and mods letting it continue, yes everyone is entitled to opinions, but I think we got the point, though 6 pages into this, Mods maybe close it, we get it.

Without a doubt. TC is trying to start something. And they definitely succeeded, looking at the amount of pages.

TC may have made false claims as well in this topic.
