We will shortly be deploying a hotfix to the PTB to potentially address the Save Game Errors that some players were facing. Please update your PTB build when the update is available and let us know of any issues. Thank you.
Well, it does have quite a bit to do with his lore- I think the reason people expected something else was more to do with the name, and I do fully agree that he should've been called something else.
Even just using his power's name for him would've been better. The Showstopper would evoke some kind of performance or act, and his knife-throwing flair would be reasonable to associate with that.
You know why. Their launch was a PR disaster and no one plays them. I believe they are the least played killer. But with the latest Deathslinger nerfs that might change.
Maybe I'm misremembering, but I'm pretty sure that even as The Trickster his stage show included a lot of knife tricks and knife throwing? Plus, he used knives to carve up his victims, which is probably the more relevant part of his lore anyway for his power in-game.
Fair criticism. I think it's generally okay, I'd rather interesting stories with powers that only kinda make sense to be associated with them than boring stories with very faithful powers.
Look at Wraith- his lore barely matches up with his in-game power, but both are just fine.
Additionally, people also complain that the name 'Trickster' doesn't match his ability, but conveniently ignore how the exact same thing applies to the Nurse (teleportation), Doctor (electric blasts), Clown (nausea gas grenades) and Legion (run fast and repeated stabs).
They'll fix the issues but not until much, much, much later. Look at how long it took for the Freddy rework after his launch nerfs, or fixing Blight's FOV, or how Legion years later after their nerfs is finally getting changes in the next mid-chapter patch.
BHVR takes their sweet time to fix thing. Especially when it involves a killer no one plays.
I'd argue that Doctor's fits his ability fine since his electric blasts are very specifically electroshock therapy, which is a medical procedure. The rest stand, though.
I can understand why Twins aren't getting much attention - they're notoriously unpopular and I'm not sure any amount of outfits or tomes could change that. Maybe a full rework, but even then, I see massive uninterest in their design and lore. Blight and Deathslinger have no excuse, though, as quite popular characters with large followings - though Blight did get plenty of lore in the halloween events leading up to and during his release. And poor Deathslinger just got shot in the leg again.
I do get the impression Trickster is a dev favorite, probably at least partly due to the collaboration. They really don't want him to go to waste; I suspect it's why he got buffed so quickly relative to other killers. I'm still surprised he got to cut so many people in line for tomes, though. What a narcissist.
I've seen teen in my country willing to commit sui- when their parents not giving them money to attend a Kpop concert, that cost as much as half a month salary at that time.
All kill was a really nice concept and honestly I think trickster would have fit in well, it is the fact it was basically a collab so everything about him from lore to power was made super boring and basic so he would sell better, and after he in fact did not sell the best, he is now milked with more attention than everyone to try and keep milking sales. Trickster was the start of the trend I'm scared to see continue in DBD where they keep making things that are mega boring and basic because they look "cute" or "quirky", and people buy them up and then act surprised the game isn't getting better.
I'm okay with his knife throwing as a power - my big issue is that he's supposed to be talented with knife tricks and instead he just machine gun lobs them. The power could be more creative than straight ranged; he's got some addons that do this with the ricochet knives and shatter knives, but the power itself is incredibly straightforward and I'm of the firm idea that the variety should have been basekit.
Also, while I do love his mori - his whole shtick was supposed to be that he was a psychotic killer, torturing people slowly and agonizingly to extract sweet operas from their screams. That he was crazy enough to see this as high art, and pleas for mercy as hymns to his name. Instead, that's where he shows off his actual knife tricks, and it's... I don't know. Yeah, he was a narcissist and did things to leave his signature on the crime scenes, but a big part of what makes the Trickster a successful killer to me is that he plays into a more psychological kind of horror. The way he kills in-game could have reflected that, like the shocking brutality in Legion's mori, but while the effect he has in game is really showy and flamboyant... it's pretty cartoonish for a game like this and certainly doesn't evoke any fear or actual darkness.
Even if he had a separate mori for when he was low on/out of throwing knives, I would have been happy with this, but as it is, it feels like a missed opportunity to show what this guy's really about.
I mean, Trickster and Yun-Jin are like the Legion. They're not particularly good, they are just perfect for cosmetics. And if what they have now is what Korea's use, it's pretty easy to make outfits for them. Just give them a flashy chicken suit or whatever and it will be pure fashion.
(That was a joke btw)
But I think the reason why they have so many cosmatics, is because they're both just good characters to make cosmetics for. Just like Legion.
If Meg was in this rift I would've included her - same with Nea and Claudette. The other characters that have way less cosmetics should get more love in that department instead of the same handful over and over.
Its what they should have done from the start. When Riot Games wanted to promote some skins for league of legends, they took four of their characters and turned them into the k-pop group KDA, and made one of the most popular k-pop songs of all time, POP/STARS. Now THATS how you do self promotion.
The Trickster should have had his own music video that launched on the day that ALLKILL launched. Half of the video could have been him singing and dancing on stage, while the other half is him murdering his victims, all while some sick music plays in the background
Not gonna lie, if I bought the game today and I saw the anime looking Crescendo intro I don't think I'd ever be willing to get into the game, because I'd be confused as to what the direction here is.

Surely Trickster, if he's anything, would be Diet Plague?
Either way, to be fair, they did buff him up after the release, he's in a better spot now.
Feng and Dweet don't even have the most cosmetics. Meg does!
Yeah the teasers were actually really good honestly. I wanted all kill to be good but I think it’s time BHVR realised it wasn’t
Problem is he still lacks originality and his power doesn’t have too much to do with his lore

Thing is his knife throwing is mentioned in like 1 line of the lore where it says he was naturally talented a knife tricks. That’s it.

Then why not try to fix those issues instead of sweeping it under the rug and hoping nobody remembers?
Maybe you should stop playing if its so bad ?
Kind of but it still doesn’t really translate well. Doing intricate knife tricks is a lot different than just throwing them at people
And all this posts are from 200h players i guess :D

That sweet Asian market.
This forum is a small portion, you cant assume.

Kpop is a real big deal in Eastern Asia.

I agree kpop is a massive industry. Problem is bhvr keep doing a terrible job trying to appeal to them

It's hard to take a boygroup puppet for a horror figure, simple as that.
Jeff rift when?

Exactly. I have no issue with kpop in dbd but don’t half ass it
