What keeps you still interested/playing DBD?

in Polls
Hello again everyone, hope you all are having a good day/night. So, this will be a bit of a downer type of discussion I feel but, I'm still just too curious on this. Recently, my interest and enjoyment of DBD is starting to go down pretty significantly and, to be brutally honest, the only real big reason I still have some interest in DBD is because... licensed content. It's just a dream come true being able to officially play characters that you'd never thought possible. That said, what keeps YOU all interested and coming back?

I honestly keep coming back because I just plain love the game, but out of the options here, the "completion" one best applies.
I'm not interested in P3ing anyone but my mains (which I've done already), but I'm pretty much forced to buy all the perks once I reach the bloopoint cap, because like... why the hell would I willingly stop my bloodpoint gain lol? Plus it might give me an excuse to buy more characters.
If I wasnt on a break of the game right now (which may be permanent) I'd say the future and current original content. Most of the licensed killers I dislike, and all the three killers I usually played were original.
Well, here's hoping that, thanks to the recent news, they could possibly be looking at extending that BP cap, or, hopefully, outright removing it.
It's hard to hope gameplay changes when the dev team are so slow and hesitant to make them and commit to anything that they themselves don't believe in. Really great ideas like the pre-game collapse, a quick menu for solo survivors to make callouts to each other, or simple perk changes like making no mither start survivors at full health but inflict the broken status effect after being injured for the first time, or committing to a significant and noticeable Circle of Healing nerf (adding a cooldown to the perk itself or to the totem it was most recently attached to), or a comprehensive NOED rework, etc.
At least by looking forward to licensed content I'm generally not going to be disappointed- it's the thing that makes them the most money after all.
But here's hoping they really get themselves in gear, because right now nobody is very happy with what was discussed in the most recent Q&A. Especially the lead game designer who seems to constantly have the wrong perspective on the most pressing of issues with the game.
Hype
To be clear, I quit months ago and haven't come back. The option I picked is only to indicate the things that would possibly bring me back. I'd say it would take one of the following:
As for the OP: you're in good company. 40% of DbD's steam user base have quit over the last six months. There's a whole lot of people losing interest in the game right now.
At the moment i'm not playing that much dbd but if my friends invite me then i'll join them. I like the game but its getting a bit boring since i have played it a lot and i feel like playing other games
The option I'd pick would be "because I enjoy playing this game", which doesn't seem to be represented here. Nor is "the feeling of increasing your skill/knowledge", which would be the other reason I'd pick.
This isn't exactly right, but I think for me it's a combo of sunk costs plus wanting to collect new content / believing that the new content will make the game more fun, even when I have no reason to believe it.
Like, I'm excited for the new rift, but why? Did I enjoy the last rift? No. Did I wear most of the cosmetics? No. Am I still weirdly concinved that a Pig skin will rekindle my desire to play killer? Yes.
I actually think the day the rift comes out and I get to look at all the Free Stuff I Could Have Soon is a happier day for me than when I actually get the stuff.
I like the content in general. I guess if I had to pick between the original and licensed killers I might go with licensed? But really it's just the content generally speaking.
I don't know, really don't have any appropriate answer cause there's really no reason for me to keep playing the game.
My friends quit already, I don't know anyone else. Survivors are toxic if I play as killer against them and killers are toxic if I play as survivor against them. The game is stupid all over and over again. There's super stupid decision done and a super ignorant developer team who pretends to be customer friendly by pretending to listen to the community but absolutely not carrying about anything. There's tons of more reasons to name for me to not keep playing but literally no appropriate reason for me to keep playing.
Dead by Daylight Developer team disappoints me every time they put up a stream once more.
Just pretending to be interested, being ignorant and doing consistently stupid decisions.
That would the answer for me, why I should quit for good. There's a specific reason, why around 60k players has quit the game within in a half year on Steam only. The Matchmaking isn't working properly either cause there's not enough players left cause the Management scared them all away. I'm looking forward for VHS. 😊
