micro stutters and micro freezes on pc

my specs : i9 10850k / gtx 1660 super (had same issue with gtx 1080) / 16gb 2400mhz ram/ ssd for OS / game on another ssd/ using multiple monitors/ windows 10 Version 10.0.19043 Build 19043 / my drivers are up to date
sometimes its rapid stuttering like in the picture or just random hiccups.
I was having this issue for as long as i remember and i tried many fixes i saw online like:
setting up virtual memory.
installing the game from ssd to hdd and to another ssd.
disabiling V-sync and G-sync.
capping fps using RTSS.
clean install of windows with no background apps.
"-USEALLAVAILABLECORES -dx12 -Fullscreen" launch options for Steam.
disabiling fullscreen optimization.
and many more i cant remember them now.
and the issue is still there and making the game undesirable.
here is the dbd log file

How long has it been happening?
many mounths. maybe a year
this was in december or before.
Ok, good. So it's likely NOT the nvidia driver issue that i've heard is going around.
Try increasing your virtual memory. I'm using 16GB min, 32GB max with 32GB system RAM. It's apparently helped other folks, so it's an easy, free fix that's worth a try.
this is what i have currently.. how much should i increase it?
and should i make the same for all drives?
note: the game is on D drive
That should be way more than enough, I'm only doing 8-16GB per drive on 2 different drives.
Hmmm, anything hitting 100% while playing?
just the gpu when i play at ultra , but the stutter still there at low settings with 50-60% usage.
Hmmm, ok. On a HDD or SSD?
SSD as mentioned above.
Thats my bad, I forgot that.
Dumb idea. WHat happens if you set the game to a high affinity in task manager?
you mean high priority?
the game dont allow me to change that it says access denied (i can change the priority of other games but dbd is the only exception)
Yeah, high priority.
That's odd because I know other folk with lower class CPU's have been able to do that. Hm... you might need to give support your log file so they can take a look at it just because I can't see ANY reason why your system would be having issues like that. https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
did this and played few games as killer and i think its better than before but there still fps spikes but not as common.
i sent the log for support and waiting for their response.
Hopefully they'll have some ideas, but I legit cannot see any reason why you're having issues at all.
they made me put some commands on cmd and repair EAC. the game running flawless now🙂.
thanks for trying to help.
Oh awesome. Do you mind sharing? Then I can save that to suggest for other folks.
For this case, could you please restart your computer and Steam client and do a hard reset on your network router to see if this issue persists? If it does, please follow these steps to solve this connection issue:
1.) Press Windows Key + R to bring up "Run"
2.) Type "cmd" (without quotes) and hit enter to bring up "Command Prompt"
3.) First, type "ipconfig /release" (without quotes) and hit enter
4.) Second, type "ipconfig /renew" (without quotes) and hit enter
5.) Lastly, type "ipconfig /flushdns" (without quotes) and hit enter
6.) We also advise repairing/reinstalling EAC
7.) Restart your computer
Thank you! Much appreciated :)
welp that didnt age well , also i noticed that the same stutter pattern happens in fortnite when running in dx11 mode , both games use EAC.
i have been running dbd using the "-dx12" parameter for a while now and it dont give me the stutter pattern but it gives the shader compilation stutter which is also annoying.
I wouldn't be surprised if EAC's done something then. I noticed EAC games are running worse on my wife's PC since they all updated.
i hope the dev's are aware of this and working on it cuz no matter the hardware i run it on, its always having these issues
Okay, I mentioned this in another thread and folks said it helped.
If you're on steam, try adding -NOTEXTURESTREAMING to the launch options
sadly didnt work :>
What is this nvidia driver issue?
I've started to get random FPS drops and crashes since 5.7.1 (can't say about 5.7.0, I literally only played a couple of games before the update hit), no reason for the change. Everything was working fine on previous versions.
That was last year. There was a bad driver released. I am not aware of any issue with that now.
