And how they're going to uninstall your game, corrupt your hard drive and punch you in the face? Because that's the impression I'm getting from all the doom and gloom going around since the reveals.
I don't understand it myself. I find all the changes to be great and fair for both sides. I'm happy the meta is finally being shaken up and matches may feel refreshing to play hopefully. My only concern currently is Off the Record and how its current buff will affect the matches, but we have yet to see how it performs with the new base game changes.
Are you surprised. People who use meta perks like their meta perks, it's the opponent that doesn't. So of course the individuals who it affects the most are coming to the forums. I personally say just adapt to the changes, if a perk isn't worth bringing any longer, than don't.
It's a huge shakeup to the game. Yes, there are going to be strong reactions. Some of the changes are great, some of the changes are meh, some of the changes are daft.
Also, making fun of hyperbolic reactions with a hyperbolic reaction is a bit silly.
This feels like something I would write.
"Shaking up the game" like this after 6 years seems pretty unnecessary, but well...
Yeah, I'm also surprised with how some people are reacting like it's the death of the game. There are certainly some things I can understand being concerned over but for the most part I think the changes are great.
The only thing I wanted to see more of that we didn't get was a better incentive to not facecamp in early game. It'll be no different then now beside gens taking 10 seconds longer, so arguably a buff for all the spicy Bubba's out there.
Tunneling will be a bit less effective with BT basekit as well as OTR being a DS/BT baby that can be used twice along with DS so that'll be nice against hardcore tunnelers. Maybe get rid of the effect in endgame though, the same way they did with DS.
All the perk changes are a welcome idea. I think some were nerfed a little too hard and might get buffed after the PTB and the same with some of the buffs that will probably be nerfed but all in all, seeing changes like this in such a big number is fantastic and I welcome more of it.
The prestige system is great. The matchmaking incentive is basically a weaker BBQ for everyone which is fine, though the BP hit is heartbreaking. My biggest issue is no disincentive for early game facecamping. Then again, I see it happen so little that it's not even that big of a complaint.
So yeah, I'd personally be ecstatic to see more mid-chapter patches like this.
Can't wait for the Spine Chill nerf,I always wanted a perk that tells me that the killer is looking at me when I can clearly see them 😍
The Calm Spirit nerf is my favourite
Can't wait to cleanse a totem 30% slower then go spend half a gen self caring
I feel like a lot of people are just mad that either
A. BHVR meant both sides meta so it just hit them that their favorite perks are getting gutted
B. Feel that the base game changes to compensate for some of the metas being nerfed, wasn't a good enough compensation (which I can get behind, but not enough to be all doom and gloom over)
Overall, the changes seemed pretty reasonable. I actually think they might be playin it a little too safe. Was kinda hopin for some major shakeups...ya know, give some long forgotten perks the full god treatment or somethin crazy.
Only thing im really disappointed about is the removal of BP bonuses from the 2 perks without any reliable replacement. The matchmaking bonus is a novel idea, but the whole point behind that is to find a balance so that they dont give a bonus. And as much as im intrigued by the new prestige perk system, its not really doing anything as far as buying our way through the bloodwebs. I honestly think the removal of (mostly) reliable BP bonuses is going to hurt more than ppl realize.
There's a few changes that really just don't make any sense.
Like Calm Spirit's additional functional is just a net negative. The perk is still useful against perks that make you scream, but that was already niche and this isn't helping making people us it more.
Ruin is now just straight up worse than kicking a gen with not only the drawback of being a hex, but a perk that deactivates itself after a kill. Which is just like "why would anyone use this over the other changed regression perks?"
Self-care is literally 45 second healing.
Between the quesitonable changes there are a lot of good, but negatively usually wins out ove rpositivity.
I’m just salty about WGLF and BBQ… to hell with all the rest.
This is horse #########.
lmao theyre all real critiques in this game & not just whiney voices but yes carry on like the game is fine
I'm honestly psyched.
they're so dramatic. the changes seem very fair to me.
Thank you, I will.
Regardless, I never said they weren't valid critiques, just that everyone is overreacting. As usual.
