That could keep your mmr in range you maybe enjoy more.

I think the main problem people have with it is games ending too fast. Casual players want to play the game and enjoy it but if games only last 5-7 minutes it’s hard to enjoy it as much.
Exactly what I do, at least during and since the anniversary event.
I try to max my BP as much as possible, then let survivors go, providing they're not being toxic, then I may camp them out. Seems fair to me.
You never know what Rift Challenges or Daily Challenge a killer is doing. Kills may be required for example. It is easy to assume bad intentions since we cannot communicate.
In general, I think that mercy should be rare for it to be meaningful. I want to do objectives too.

My games usually last 15 minutes or more im pretty good slowing down the game as killer and I don't try to end them fast I avoid tunneling if I can for example. My survivor games can thought last anything between 2-20 mins.
so many players will slug to find the last one it's weird to me, even streamers do it, your life isn't ending if someone get hatch just hook
with how BS the Rng can be sometimes on most maps , thats why i dont even care at this point if the killer is playing sweaty🤔 , but dear lord i just hate going against the same Nurses and blights (😴running the same sweaty builds) also if you let people go you will be eventually be playing against babies and i dont want to kill baby dweets........matches also become really easy to win in low MMR, Stomping new players isnt good😐️.

Personal experience proved to me there is no "we all just chill" mmr bracket.
It's just not a solid idea for either side. This Game is competitive by design and there will always be players that would rather win. Players that want a chill party game experience need to collect friends for the kyf mode or accept the disappointment of no mercy. That's not to say the game requires no adjustments to balance issues, but accepting loss will always be a factor.
I find winning against a very strong team (or escaping a good killer) very enjoyable. I like sweaty games AND I almost always give the hatch. Sometimes, if the survivors were too weak or had a severe handicap (early DC, trolls not doing anything, ...) I even let two escape.
What I mean is, liking one thing is not incompatible with doing the opposite.
MMR doesn't even work lol. You can be a 30 hour noob and you will get matched with a 10k hour SWF so they don't have to wait. This suggestion to let them go to lower your MMR is dumb
In my experience, you can let survivors go and they'll still be salty in end game chat. So I just find it better to not let them go.
It can happen yeah but it works for me. I don't get super sweaty games that often and I play m1 killers too.
Mmr is not perfect but it is there.
I've never complained about survivors playing to win.
I usually do this with Wraith during Tome Challenges.
Wraith is best killer to do tome challenges with....especially Glyph ones.
As a bonus, any other 'hard' challenges like 'hook 2 within 60s' are easily doable because you've tanked your mmr into the negatives on him.
I will generally try not to go overly hard on survivors, especially if I’m winning and it’s clear I’ll get a 4k. The issue becomes if I go too nice on survivors they think I want to farm, which I don’t. I want to try and let them get some points but not outright farm, and most survivors start meme’ing once they realize you’re not trying to kill them.

I do this quite often with Artist. As soon as my Artist games begin to feel like they should be preceded by a training montage with skipping rope, guzzling energy drinks and 'The Eye Of The Tiger' playing in the background I farm with the next 5 to 10 groups to get my games back into the non sweaty level.
Unless I'm BMed or have to do a Kill 4 survivors in one trial challenge nearly always let the last survivor go.
It doesn't work well is more accurate to say but it does work to some extent. I would intentionally let people go on nurse when I was learning to play her. I got to a point where it was almost nothing but bedrock players. There was a big difference between that and my other killers where I always sweat to win. The number of bad players I got on those is significantly less. I also stopped getting as many bad players on nurse when I got better and started winning most of my matches.
For the same reason survivors don't give you free hooks if they dominate you, or even M1s at the exit gates anymore for that matter. People don't care of you had fun they only care if they had fun.

1: People generally never return the favor in my experience
2: I don't play sweaty the bulk of the time, but if I win I take the win.
3: Letting people go just means I improve but the quality of my opponents does not, and now I'm smurfing and hurting everyone else's experience in the process.
Because it's so rare that some people actually want to taste what that feels like, not just be on the receiving end.
I will still get trashtalked and BMd even if I let them escape, so whats the point? If I get kills and go up in my mmr I don't expect survivors to show mercy, they are trying to win and so do I, I will play to win and their fun isn't a relevant aspect to me as my fun isn't important to them as well.
Funnily enough camping and tunneling are weird occurences since they can lead you to throw the game and thats a big no no.
Because if you give some air to survivors, they will try to rush you and BM at gates so it is better to send them to the lobby as fast as you can, if you can.
They'd rather spend a minute or two looking for them than give up a free kill/bp.
