3rd time BHVR makes a broken perk in less than a year

For you reading this, I really hope you find someone that loves you just as much as BHVR loves making broken perks for survivor.

It is the third time in less than a year that they intend to make the game unplayable by releasing a broken perk.

First, there were CoH who made an entire playstyle (hit & run) unplayable. Even after nerfs it is still one of the best perks in the game.

Then there were Boil Over who basically gave survivors a way to take the game hostage on maps like Ormond and RPD.

Now we have Off the Record which was a perk that gave stealth and they changed it to... A perk that gives stealth and God mode for 80 seconds. Wonderful.

To be honest, when I read OTR's buff for the first time I thought "there is no way they are making this change go to live" and then when the time comes they only give it a slight nerf without addressing how broken this perk is. I'm sorry, but 12 seconds of BT for good survivors were already enough to prevent hard tunneling as it was pretty much enough to get to a loop and that's why it was one of the most popular perk in the game. Now they make a second BT on absolute steroids.

What a wonderful patch to be a killer, specially a Twins main.

In fairness to BHVR they have also addressed those perks being broken.

I'd rather they take big swings and then reel it back in as required than never risk big changes at all. Boil Over isn't broken anymore and Off The Record won't be either, so their success rate for responding to (new) broken perks is at least 2/1.

Good news is, as a Twins main you can keep on slugging and camping. That's the incentive we've seen killers given in the past year or so. Tbh i will give this update a try as killer again. I haven't played killer in months b/c as an average skill killer i can't compete with the higher mmr survivors i get matched up with plus i don't want to tunnel or camp. If things aren't different after the update, i'll probably just resort to tunnel/camp/slug when i play killer again. it is what it is.

    Only a slight nerf?

they addressed both of the biggest (and deserved) complaint points: end game guaranteed escape as well as endurance stacking.

the ‚god mode‘ you are taking about is having 80s being two hit down while not being able to progress the game at all…

True. Deathslinger will basically never deal with Dead Hard again.

I agree with the Boil over, but that's it. That perk is just a headache when it is abused.

Still everything else in the patch is awesome.

And Legion, time to edit the tier list haha.

Yeah and it doesn't address the free second chance survivors get throughout the whole game. Getting hit by DS once perk match is manageable, but if every survivor is using DS and you get hit by all of them you will get absolutely destroyed. The thing is, avoiding DS is possible since you can just slug the survivor using the DS aggressively.

Now good luck trying to avoid a survivor bodyblocking you in Midwich's doorways while trying to protect another survivor. Now consider that you can activate OTR on both unhooks and you got a problem since you're getting 8 (2 second chances x 4 survivors) OTR hits per game.

BT was already considered one of the best perks in the game for giving survivors a window of invulnerability. Now they just make the same perk but on steroids.

Also, I don't see how Deathslinger counters this mess.

Yeah and now Twins will become more reliant on slugging and camping than ever since the can't afford to deal with OTR. Imagine having to deal with 80 seconds of god mode and if you hit them as Victor you will get kicked. With BT it was manageable since you could just wait 12 seconds but you can have that luxury with 80 seconds.

Um? You chain them you hit them or let the chain break. You hit them no endurance tank hits simple.

“I don’t see how deathslinger counters this mess” 🤡

I don’t usually do that but in this case that emoji perfectly explains this thread

It is still not a particular counter that Deathslinger can perform. It is the same as taking the hit as every other killer. Lmao

This is literally just taking the hit.

Pls don't do this. It's just one guy. Don't start the us vs them.

Nobody cares about sprint burst. It's not oppressive. You're not hugging survivors from behind for five minutes, you're not trying to guess which of the five spins you should swing on, nobody is sprint bursting through traps or projectiles.

The counterplay to Sprint burst is you follow the survivor for a little longer. That's it. This is not a problem.
