like they dont read them and also what the hell does giving props do
In Game Reporting does nothing without a report ticket also being filled out. If a Report Ticket is also filled out, then in theory someone will review what you reported and act accordingly
Props does nothing. Presumably they meant for it to do something at some point but right now unless it's a secret, it does nothing
In-game reports are worthless unless you're reporting a chat offense. If you're reporting something in-match and you don't have a corroborating ticket on the support website with footage, your report is thrown away.
Props is a placebo, I think. I still give them on the tiny chance they're actually saved.
I used to think something was done until I ran into a Killer & Survivor duo on PS4 that were working together. I had video evidence and submitted it alongside the in-game report, and nothing ever happened. I could see them still playing Dead by Daylight for weeks after and ran into them a few times, always the same thing. Nea would use Bond, Open Handed, Empathy, and Kindred to bring The Cannibal to you.
Apparently they do bans in waves, so you might have observed this in between one of these. Also iirc some offenses don’t result in permanent bans and may only result in warnings or temporary bans (both of which can’t be seen on platform profiles). Could also be that the video evidence wasn’t enough if you may have started the clip too late or something? (Had it happen to me several times that I saw killer and survivor directly working together with gestures etc, started recording and then nothing indicated it again..)
i am not trying to say they are always acting on every report correctly and you must be wrong - but there is a possibility that there is an explanation other than ‚they do nothing‘
also, it’s pretty wild that those two apparently get so often together into a lobby and then even often against you! Are you playing with crossplay turned off?
yeah but they dont read the in game reports you have to submit a ticket
Yeah I know, the person I responded to stated they had submitted a ticket with video evidence though!
It creates a text log which they presumably never read. Pair it with a website report if you'd like them to also post its "solved" after doing nothing a week+ later.
Literally nothing as you need to go to a website to actually file the report basically. Cosmetic option as I like to call it.
That's only true for reporting certain things that specifically require a customer service ticket, mostly things that can result in permanent bans like reporting Hacking. Most of the things that result in temporary bans don't need a customer service ticket and you can report them with just the ingame report, such as being really abusive in after game chat.
What people arnt mentioning. Is you NEED to fill out the in game report. So when you file a ticket. They have the corresponding report to match the ticket.
A warning is a possibility, but you would think after two instances with compelling video evidence would be enough to trigger a ban. On PS4 and PS5 you can set it to pre-record everything for up to I believe 60 minutes. So I always have the entirety of every match.
This was sometimes last year and yes crossplay was off, I used to play with someone that hated going against The Huntress on PC so when I would play with her cross play had to be off.
I haven't even heard of any action taken against someone who had abusive chat so I still think in game reports are just cosmetic.
gives you a false sense of security and validation so they don't need to pay staff to help you
I do love how the features that people think prevent them from being hassled by toxic players are actually completely useless. I have a friend who thinks blocking prevents you from being matched with them again, doesn't work this way. The report system is completely useless without a follow-up to the main website which is mentioned no where in game as far as i can tell, and you have to have some evidence to go with it or else the chances of nothing happening increases to 100% from 99%. As far as I can tell it's to promote a false sense of security when in reality it doesn't do anything. From what I can tell, people were getting doxed and swatted until articles were written about it and BHVR had to react, but it still seems like it's at the very least possible.
Why would you hear when someone was banned for being abusive in chat?
It is good that it doesnt work, because salth reports dont need space. Only cheaters should be banned.
It's there to make you feel good when you give a thumbs up or whatever. BHVR only seems to care about people using "mean" words in chat. But not nearly as much effort into hackers or players who grief others in game or anything else considered reportable.
not even a ticket does something sometimes. i reported with screenshots in game and with a ticket a guy threatening me and BHVR not even answered my ticket, this happenes 2 months ago.
What about reporting AFKing, refusing to play the game, and rage quits? Those are quite easily visible with the extremely low bloodpoints from the status screen.
I'd like to believe they do something, but I'm fairly sure they don't. You'd have to ask one of the moderators.
blocking dose also nothing.
That part's intentional. They don't want people mass-blocking everyone that beats them.
Blocking someone blocks communication with them, it has nothing to do with matchmaking.
Its a real shame if it doesn´t do anything.
It basically just flags the match.
It will only result in action being taken if there is proof attached to said flag.
well, then it dosn't work. if you block someone, you still can read what they have to say.
That's not what that does, they won't be able to add you.
That's rather... bizarre. You would think a block function would at least allow you to ignore a player. I see no harm in allowing that, and you'd think it would be a desirable function to have if you're in a lobby with someone that's being offensive, abusive, or spamming so that nothing else can be read. Especially if you're trying to talk with someone else and closing chat isn't an option.
That's just basic player protection.
For chat abuse you only need to create an in-game report without an additional support ticket or evidence as the chat log will get saved automatically.
they are never responding to complete and correct player report tickets, this doesn’t mean that they don’t take action or not - they do contact you if you missed some info or anything.
also, screenshots are not accepted as evidence as it’s way too easy to manipulate them. (And again, for anything chat related no evidence is needed anyway)
