Hag is Neglected

Blah blah “buh Sadako!” blah blah

Really though, Hag is the most neglected killer of the bunch and no one likes playing against her because most Hag mains waste time trapping under the hook without even using Mint Rag. Seriously, she’s in a rough spot and arguably had a WAY worse falloff than Hillbilly after his nerf. She still relies exclusively on Corrupt to get the game going, her move speed is awful, her POV is somehow lower than launch Blight and Sadako, and half her addons are all over the place. Mint Rag and Rusty Shackles are broken. Mint Rag by itself just incentivizes Hag players to equip MYC, trap a hook, and then perform what is arguably the most unfun camping strategy which is a guaranteed death to the rescuer. Meanwhile you have Waterlogged Shoe which is the worst ultra rare in the game up there with PH goblet.

I like Hag. She’s fun. Good break from the chase killers. But no one likes her for these reasons and her entire kit hasn’t been updated in years. I have a couple recommendations. One being to remove her ability to trap under hook, considering Twins has that rule for whatever reason. Two being to add the ability to teleport with the shoe and severed hand since those are barely effective addons in the first place. I have other tweaks but they’re not well defined yet.

Please give the swamp monster love!

Hag gets absolutely roasted by SWF in the same way as Pinhead. She excels best in solo queue and it absolutely blows when it happens because most survivors give up the second they see Hag. At least that’s how I see it. She’s not as bad as trapper but it’s hard to enjoy a match with her.

Because there's nothing needing done for her. She's a powerhouse. I'm just glad she's rare. She's easily one of if not the most boring killers to face.

I only read the title, call social services.

The hags I've played against actually do better when they don't spend time trapping all around the hook.

Corrupt is very much a gamble on Hag. Try playing without it instead it's better to lose 2 gens and set up your net.

And I would say Hag is the most overrated killer in the game. Many still have her in S or A tier while she is probably C-tier. Against solos yeah you should win with her.

She has 10 traps, it's all about positioning those traps. Also play the 3 gen game. I herd the survivors to do certain gens, that way the 3 gen game is all next to each other and a bunch of traps sprawled out. This is only a side objective, as each killer should have multiple strategies for different phases of the match. Or you know, face camping and tunneling works too.

Okay so you counter MYC by waiting for the trap to disappear before making the save. Her movement speed is slow because she isn't meant to chase she is meant to trap. Her height is low because she is the smallest killer in the game unless you count Victor. That is her actual sight.

Currupt is needed because her whole idea is to set up a web and that helps make sure she doesn't lose as many gens as she could have before actually getting to play the game. If you chase with hag you're just playing a slow killer with no power.

If you prevent her from putting traps near a survivor it drastically alters her style of gameplay. I love hag I wouldn't mind if a few of her purple addons were looked at and her shoe reworked into something better but she doesn't need to be hindered by preventing her traps being placed in areas.

Besides waterlogged shoe being buffed in patch 5.3.0 wasn't the last time she received changes like 4 years ago

I said it for years, the Hag needs a soft rework. I love playing as her, but her kit is easily abusable by good teams and incentivizes camping and tunneling.

  • FrenchBagelsFrenchBagels Member Posts: 32

Yep. Hag is a decent killer but my opinion is that she’s starting to falloff in quality since then. CoH absolutely stomped her when it was first released too.

Hag doesn’t need a buff, she’s actually one of the stronger killers in terms of kill rate on the aggregate site I follow. People can debate whether she’s fun to play as or against (similar to how I hate playing as Nurse but also don’t think she needs a buff), but either way her performance is fine and doesn’t need to be more powerful.

Eh in my opinion I would hate not being able to put 1 trap under a hooked surv . I don't ever put more than 1 cause that's dumb.

However I agree with re-working her red and purple add ons a little bit. Lately I've had problems with her being ridiculously slow after I tp so little things like that to me need to be addressed too.

She has always been my least favorite killer to face as a solo survivor.

I could spend the first 4 gens of the game harassing every trap she places, but as soon as she downs one survivor the game ends.

If I had to guess, I probably have under a 5% escape rate against hag.

Reassurance will do wonders against her, for solo queue.

As a Hag Main she’s is fine, in fact I’d rather she not be touched at all. She’ll perfectly fine where she is. Which more than I can say for most other killers

hag always seemed like a secret good killer just no one likes to play hag

  • GoshJoshGoshJosh Member Posts: 4,799

People hate playing against her more. I feel so gross playing Hag, even if it's just for a daily.

  • Iron_CutlassIron_Cutlass Member Posts: 640

I think Hag is in a good spot, I just dont think people enjoy playing as/against them since they have huge camping potential, which is a given when you see the community's stance on camping and such.

Plus just because a killer hasnt been updated or messed with in a long while, doesnt necessarily make them bad or outdated. Hag is still a really good killer (A Tier imo) when played right and can be really strong. Ive seen people say "this killer sucks when facing a SWF" but a lot of killer struggle against SWF anyways, I think it's just more of how poorly balanced the game is than it is with the killer being bad.

  • GloamGloam Member Posts: 598

Hag is still very solidly A tier they just have very niche appeal and that's okay. You could argue the fact that because hag has barely ever been touched she's one of the most well designed killers BHVR has ever made.

She is probably the only killer in the game I seriously consider shattered hope on. Flashlights and CoH are her two biggest weaknesses so I have franklins equipped 24/7 since she hates medkits too. With shattered hope it is actually worth it to leave your web and go smash a totem since it will be gone the rest of the game.

People endlessly retreating from the web to go heal at a boon was her biggest counter. I actually stopped playing her when CoH came out, only recently have been getting back into some Hag.

CoH is actually more popular than ever since the self care nerf so the fact she can use shattered hope unironically is good for her too.

I think she is fine and still very strong, but it's still not exactly fun to be completely restricted to one small section of the map like she usually is

I have played Hag since the beginning and she is much improved from what she used to be. Her small size and terror radius lead to some surprises if you have the right perk build. Flashlights are her bane though.

I last used Mint Rag in 2017 and don't think I have ever faced one as a survivor. It is a touchy addon and teleporting to the wrong trap is common just like with Dredge and his lockers. Most Hags will be running range and setting speed add-ons.

The fact you trap hooks and regularly from the sound of it might be the reason why you aren’t getting good results with her.

Hag is fine and in a good spot currently. In fact I'd say Lisa is even stronger since the update. She is every bit as annoying and a menace as a killer can be.

My miss Haggie is in desperate need of add-on rework. Her add-ons are useless and boring. most haggie mains play with no add-ons. I would love to see a gen slow down add-on since there are other killers that have such; deep wounds add-on maybe??, add-on that slows down healing, broken status??; add-on that slows survivors down when they trigger a trap??, endless possibilities

And I also think at this point she needs her base movement speed to be the normal one like the Dredge. He can teleport around the map, can teleport during chase, yet he is not slower like miss Hag

AND ALSO, devs need to make it harder to destroy traps with a flashlight. It used to take a lot of the flashlight battery, but now it virtually has no penalty to destroy her traps. You can destroy what 20+ traps with just a yellow flash, or so I heard (haven't tested it myself)

Atleast bodyblocker Hag with Scarred Hand and Waterlogged Shoe is a fun meme build.
