What's everyone's opinion on STBFL?

I think it's actually one of the best perks, it makes you so efficient, I love it. I've been using it as Spirit and it's amazing. What does everyone else think?

My build is STBFL, Sloppy butcher, A Nurses calling and BBQ.

Edit: I also stopped using Ruin on Spirit and Hag for STBFL, with Spirit, I'm getting quick hooks and with Hag I'm just flying everywhere.

    Don't like it still

@Poweas It's too situational for me, however, seeing that Spirit profile picture reminded me of a video I saw not too long ago that uses said perk, enjoy!

I'm not a fan for petty reasons. I don't like losing stacks because I hit the obsession. That's just me though. If it locked in at 8 stacks, I'd probably use it on my M1 killers.

    😂😂😂 @thesuicidefox you're similar to me

I think it's good for certain killers. It CAN work with all killers, but it's better suited for killers who can take advantage of it more consistently like Spirit. I also have found that it's pretty nice on Clown with his bottles providing a nice combo. It's pretty interesting with hag with the traps. I have to explore some timings and distance to see the real potential.

Yeah I need a genius to help me with the maths behind it. Normally when a survivor gets hit, with a normal cooldown, they can get a ton of distance, but with STBFL they get way less. Can someone clarify the numbers for me though?

Ehhh, I Prefer Play With Your Food or even Dying Light...Save the Best For Last...Id rather get some movement speed increase or really slow down other Survivor's action speeds if I eliminate my Obsession....rather than decreased cooldown on attack swings

See I feel like it doesn't help as much as people think. If you have 8 tokens it's quite awesome, but on average you are going to be walking around with like 4 tokens at any given moment, unless you go out of your way to avoid the obsession until the end. Enduring/SF is a much better deal, even though it's 2 perks it is probably one of the strongest killer combos in the game if not the strongest. Enduring on its own is useful if only for the reduce pallet stun, and then it also reduces DS/Head On stun too as a big bonus. STBFL won't help you at pallets.

I also am not a fan of using obsession perks because then you ALWAYS have an obsession. Now that DS has been nerfed obsessions are less common. It might spike after Ash comes out with MoM, but once people realize that perk isn't really that good it will drop again. It just makes things more easy going IMO. You never have to guess if someone has an obsession perk.

IMO both Rancor and Remember Me are more valuable because Rancor let's you kill the obsession at end game and RM adds time to the gate which can completely change the end game of a trial. STBFL will help in those situations where you have >4 tokens and someone gets hit in a bad spot, but that's so situational.

    I don't like it.

It is really difficult to break BBQ, ruin, enduring and spirit fury combo.

For killers like spirit hag nurse that do not follow this meta, there are still better perks to use imo.

It is one of those good perks that are not 'good enough' to pick up because of other good perks.

I don't like the fact that hitting the obsession consumes 2 stacks. I only see the boost useful with 8 stacks, but by the time I have them I have to basically down 4 survivors at least (and the obsession players are usually those with big balls so you see them first, so most if the time it takes much longer).

For me it just get outclassed by other perks. Enduring saves much more time, together with spirit fury it's so beautiful. Bamboozle outclasses it aswell imo, faster Vaults + blocked loop. Or that new perk of Plague to see who is around the downed survivor (forgot the name in English) to apply some good slugging pressure.

Back then I loved that cuz it was really strong.. But now.. Idk, I see it as useful as brutal strength. Nice to have, but not good enough to replace it with for other perks

It's an okay perk for the most part. I enjoyed using it while leveling up my Spirit and it was pretty efficient. There's many other better perks to use though. I use Nurse's Calling, Sloppy Butcher, Ruin, and BBQ.

STBFL isn't necessarily always helpful, but with some killers it proves to be dominant. I agree with the enduring and SF combo over STBFL other than with spirit (killers like nurse who don't need either aren't in the convo). Now the question becomes is it better than other perks on her? I don't really know. I like a lot of perks on her.

Obsessions don't really bother me. DS isn't BS anymore and that's the only perk that has the element of surprise. I take pride of not tunneling, so it's not difficult to take in a obsession perk if I want to.

I really dislike rancor as a perk. I feel like it doesn't help at all until end game with a high risk high reward obsession mori (the location reveal is pretty much pathetic IMO). It's at least fun sometimes. I like remember me. Provides a bit of security.

It is very nice on the clown , I like to run STBFL, Brutal strength, bamboozle, and Ruin on him

I like STBFL on Freddy since it lets him actually defend the basement effectively, even without noed and he can selectively not have the obsession be able to body block him.

I'm also testing it on doc since I think it may do something really special on him.

I think it's pretty good on most killers. Spirit is actually one of the few killers I think it's bad on.

  • PoweasPoweas Member Posts: 5,875

Can you elaborate? I find it awesome to hit them and instaphase saving them from gaining a lot of distance.

I like what it does, don’t like that it takes a long time to build stacks for, also don’t like that you are discouraged from chasing any target at will when it takes 4 hits to actually begin to feel the momentum of STBFL, there’s no instant reward, you become distracted trying to build stacks instead of PTO.

It's very good at what it does, but it's just alright on anyone who has a good chase Power.

  • PoweasPoweas Member Posts: 5,875

For me, my gamestyle is to spread the pain anyway, which is why I have no problem reaching 5 stacks early game.

Idk. I don't like the downside that you need to ignore your obsession in order to make this perk more powerful.

Well if you are instaphasing right after hitting them then you didn't use it to get your first hit. That means you ran them down for a while. Survivors that are even half competent aren't getting ran down by a huntress with no hatchets. This means you are generally landing your first hit from a spirit phase against actually good survivors. This also means it won't be off cooldown after that hit. So essentially STBFL doesn't work well on Spirit unless you're playing against potatoes.

I'm not a fan of obsession perks in general. Sometimes you run into the obsession in the first 10 seconds, sometimes you don't find the obsession for 10 minutes. It is just too random. I wish obsession perks had a bonus effect where if you were more than 60 meters from the obsession, you would get a vague directional indicator. Hell, even if the perk icon just had a different border when you were more than 60 meters from the obsession would be nice.

  • PoweasPoweas Member Posts: 5,875

Ok I see. I just use Yakuyoke Amulet and that green recovery addon.

  • BlueberryBlueberry Member Posts: 6,262

You're implying the increased recovery has it back up immediately after your hit even when also using it to get the first?

  • powerbatspowerbats Member Posts: 7,071

This, I like to Run Rancor for the mind games on her along with Bitter Murmur and if I'm really into mind games I'll add Tinkerer and M&A. Throw in movement speed addons and you're an absolute terror.

Great for defensive killers like Hag and Trapper.

It's an amazing perk. The only downside with the perk is if the obsession notices it and starts getting real aggressive with bodyblocking and such.. or just DCing outright..
