Addiction to this game

Hi, i'm new here. I'm a main survivor on ps4, nice to meet you all. I'm here to talk about the anxiety and obsession that this game bring in my life. I just can't stay without this game, i tried so hard to play other games but i always come back playing this game. I can't work, dedicate myself to other important things, i just can't do anything and i wonder if someone out there is like me. This is my first multiplayer online i ever played in my life, it's like this from august 2018 to nowadays. I really tried everything, even therapy but i didn't resolve anything. I hope no one will judge me and try to give me some tips maybe i missed. (sorry if i made grammatical errors but english is not really my thing)

"Clients who are diagnosed with co-occurring depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, or other psychiatric conditions may require medication therapy with antidepressants or anti-anxiety drugs. If substance abuse is a factor, the client will need medical detox followed by specialized treatment for drug or alcohol abuse.

Depending on the severity of the addictive behavior and the co-occurrence of other medical or psychiatric conditions, video game addiction may be treated on an inpatient or outpatient basis. Inpatient facilities offer 24-hour supervision in a supportive, structured environment, which may be beneficial for individuals who haven’t been able to control their video game use. Outpatient treatment, which includes intensive outpatient programs and partial hospitalization programs (PHPs), offers more flexibility for individuals who cannot enroll in inpatient treatment due to personal responsibilities or who are very motivated to recover from addictive behavior."

Since i cant link a link to the americanaddictioncenters I would go first and talk with a doctor and seek treatment for the anxiety (which i think anyone dealing with it should in most cases)

The only other piece of advice i could offer if this is a legit post is try to cut down on gaming and start going outside more or going out with friends stuff like that tends to help

Games give you dopamine shots like when palet a killer carrying a surv.. that shots cause addiction

    First, understand that mechanism

One radical solution is getting bored of the game, but swimming can help to balance dopamine (3 times a week, 2hrs each), so can self-control more and stop playing

I can take a break from playing but I can't fall asleep without watching funny moments, some gameplay or stream. I blame yt for not suggesting me anything better.

With all, this game is kind of satanic Illuminati, with kind of psychomagic none here understand,

Also supporting satanic behavior as predictive programming, all that certainly not good for your brain

Yeah i've already done this, i still doing it but no working at all,for example if i dont play much , 4-5 days later i'm starting to feel like if i am a time clock bomb and if i dont play i'm nervous all the day and if i try to resist things getting worst time after time

I've always loved videogames and still love them but i can't enjoy other games cause of dbd, my mind automatically run to "oh.. Maybe just 2 h on dbd " and starts everything again and again

    That compulsive thinking is dopamine

Try strong multivitamins like 2per day by life extension, that may calm ur desire

Addicted too, you are beginning so let the rush take you in, learn to take positive control of the addiction of this game, take a breather every once in a while, feel free to add me, I could use some DBD friends.

You aren't the only one, I know some friends who only play this game and don't wanna leave the game.

    Thanks i'll add you soon

What you said is what i would do, just let it be

But then i see what am i doing in my life, ignoring friends and don't take responsability for a good future, and this make me sad and really frustrating

I'm going to be honest with you.

You probably need professional help. Addiction is not an easy topic. But in order to let you help, you seriously need to acknowledge the harm of your addiction in your life (which you do from your post).

Maybe just Familie/friends can help you out of your addiction if it isn't extreme, otherwise professional help is needed. You also need someone who can control your gaming behaviour from an objective pov

I've already ask for professional help, i go once a week, but nothing seems to work since my mind end up always to think about dbd

My brother take care of me and stay with me while playing and always remind me to off my ps4 in a certain hour (and no, unfortunately i dont have parents, and no friends in my city, just distant friendship)

I think the problem is just my thinking, cause my mind take the game like a primary need like food and water

I don't want to act like a victim or rant too much but i think that this behavior probably is just for escape reality and i find dbd as a good excuse for escaping, maybe if i didn't end up playing this game in 2018 i probably ended in something worst than a online game

You simply need to accept your life as perfect (zen), that's all

The problem is not what you do, the problem is the analysis you do about "your life", in reality, there is no such thing as "yourself" or "your life" or "addiction", is all an illusion

I used to be addicted to video games back when I was young (many years ago lol) but seriously the only way I was able to control my addiction was to go cold turkey! I actually stopped playing video games for a full year and I did other activities (running, exercising, reading books and comics) once I realized I had stopped playing video games for a year I got back to playing and I’ve honestly played video games less! I hope that helps!
