DC'ing to Prevent PIP Loss

Are you going to do something about this? When you DC you are supposed to lose two pips, however if you kill the client after the game or the client crashes, those pips lost to DC are returned.

This is allowing players to make an even greater mockery of your ranking system.

Edit: Ugh, and this was supposed to go under bugs - I'm letting it ride.

    Rank has no meaning

The automated ban system for disconnect is garbage and should prevent this but it clearny does not

The 'rank has no meaning' mantra isn't the point here. The point is ranking is in the game, it's a goal - and it's not even a valid one to even try progressing toward thanks to simple bugs like this. Remove rank/emblems/pips then.

Another thing - if the killer DC's they can get their pips back, but the survivors will often lose a pip thanks to another bug. So this is a tool for griefing killers.

@Madjura - They have made ranking harder so it is no longer true that rank is meaningless. If you do not lose pips from disconnecting then it makes deliberately depipping for easier games more difficult and strengthening the ranking system.

DCing should leave your pip where it would have been if the game ended naturally at that point.

I was thinking recently that it might be more impactful to have people lose *level* progress if they dc, rather than inflicting or saving rank progress. Maybe it would be too much to actually lose shards or stuff they bought, but simply needing 3,7,15 additional levels gained to return to your previous level and first opportunity to again earn more shards would still really put some punch in the dissuasion, without affecting actual games.
