Lemme start this off by saying this. By The Confined, I'm referring to Springtrap from the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise, please don't click away. Allow me to first say that I don't truly want him in the game because I don't think it would be good for the game overall, it would draw in the wrong sort of crowd, generally referred to as the "Cringy" crowd, and many fans of the game would be upset to see a character from this franchise make an appearance in the game, and would most likely quit. So I don't think Springtrap is a good idea for the game necessarily. However, once I thought about it initially ideas have been brewing up in my mind and I had to put them somewhere public. So, welcome to my Concept for a Killer that Shouldn't be in the Game so Why am I Even Making this Post.

Name: The Confined

Ability: Creeping Dread: (It's basically reverse Carter's Sparks, stay far away for bad effects.) There's something about always knowing that Afton is hunting you down slowly that causes dread to build up on your back, sweat to dot your face. The longer you sit there alone, it makes the confrontation all the worse. It eventually builds up to when you're finally face-to-face with the killer, you can no longer move. You're paralyzed. Keep tabs on the killer and play the confrontational game to keep yourself stable.

  • Every 20 seconds spent outside of the killer's terror radius causes one bar of "Dread" to go up. Maximum dread is 5 bars. You can keep track of your Dread on the HUD.
  • To remove Dread, one must spend time inside the Killer's terror radius or have the killer in sight (At about Michael Myers stalk distance) to decrease their dread. Every 2.5 seconds is one bar off. Bars are not taken off while in a chase.
  • Tier 1: No effects. Serves as a warning to the Survivor.
  • Tier 2: 3% slower action speed.
  • Tier 3: 9% slower action speed.
  • Tier 4: 12% slower action speed, 5% slower run speed.
  • Tier 5: 15% slower action speed, can no longer run. When a chase is initiated by the killer, you become paralyzed and hide your face while screaming.

Perk 1: Disassemble: The vicious attacks from your robotic strength dislodge the body and cause horrific side effects. Survivors in the Dying state are inflicted with Blindness/and Mangled/and Hindered.

"Even though it's eyes are lifeless, you can still make out the lust for blood within its pupils."

Perk 2: Crawlspace: You're no stranger to crawling through small spaces such as vents, and if anything these Vaults are easier. --/--/Once per game and while in your first chase, you vault or destroy a pallet 100% faster. After this effect has been triggered, you will get a 5/10/15% speed boost for 2 after Vaulting. Additionally, you vault 2.5/5/7.5% faster.

"Killers are experts at finding the cleverest route to catch you from. Look everywhere." -Notebook

Perk 3: Under Surveillance: You don't like your targets being able to watch your actions, and because of such you have an acute sense of when something is watching you. When you're visible in a survivor's screen in the range of 16/20/24 meters for 20/15/10 seconds, a sound and visual effect notifies their location to you.

Default Customization
Headslot: Afton: A foul excuse for a human who abused entertainment for the sake of murder. However, one night he got what was coming and was trapped in the suit that he once used for his dark deeds eternally.
Bodyslot: Springsuit: A large golden, dulled to green, suit that represents a rabbit. Originally used for child entertainment, it ended up fulfilling a much darker purpose. The suit was incredibly unstable, however, and one night after a major malfunction, Afton bled out slowly and was forced to rot eternally.
Weapon Slot: Crowbar: A tool of many purposes: Opening crates, disassembling robots, tearing the flesh out of living beings, just to name a few.

This is fricking genius, no really! I'm not one to really enjoy FNaF's gameplay but Springtrap in Dead by Daylight actually isn't as far-fetched as you think! One of the dev's (I think it was Sarah) was asked "what licensed video game killers would you like to see?". She answered "Five Night's at Freddy's. The only bad thing about this post is that the ability and 2nd perk are kinda Op. I had a perk idea that was good for chases, it is: Once per game and while in your first chase, you vault or destroy a pallet 100% faster. After this effect has been triggered, you will get a 5/10/15 percent speed boost for 2 seconds when vaulting.

Heh, thanks alot! I love your perk idea, though I'm a bit confused. Is the 2 seconds vaulting speed boost permanent after the first chase, meaning that it happens everytime you vault for the rest of the game? I'm going to assume so because that would make it an excellent Vault Master Myers pick. So, this is what I'm thinking...
Additionally, you vault 1/2/3% faster.

"Killers are experts at finding the cleverest route to catch you from. Look everywhere." -Notebook

I'm a little worried that maybe the additional vaulting speed I added might make the Perk a little too good, but I figured it would fall in line with the character a little better so I went for it. I also felt that it was best to move the first effect of the perk to it's final form because it just felt right. I dunno, I'm not a guy who is super effective at balance as you can tell, lmao.
Now, on the topic of the ability, that is a much harder issue to solve. I'm assuming the op part is how easy it is to gain bars and how hard it is to lose them. So, here's what I suggest to myself:
It now takes 20 seconds to gain a bar, with 15 being moved to an add-on.
Decreases the time from 5 seconds to 2.5 seconds in the time it takes to remove a bar. Obviously that doesn't count in a chase. I'll swap them out then, and add these changes to the main post and document the old aspects in an archive comment.

THE ARCHIVE OF PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF THIS CONCEPT-INATOR

Ability: Creeping Dread: (It's basically reverse Carter's Sparks, stay far away for bad effects.) There's something about always knowing that Afton is hunting you down slowly that causes dread to build up on your back, sweat to dot your face. The longer you sit there alone, it makes the confrontation all the worse. It eventually builds up to when you're finally face-to-face with the killer, you can no longer move. You're paralyzed. Keep tabs on the killer and play the confrontational game to keep yourself stable.

    • Every 15 seconds spent outside of the killer's terror radius causes one bar of "Dread" to go up. Maximum dread is 5 bars. You can keep track of your Dread on the HUD.
    • To remove Dread, one must spend time inside the Killer's terror radius or have the killer in sight (At about Michael Myers stalk distance) to decrease their dread. Every 5 seconds is one bar off.
    • Tier 1: No effects. Serves as a warning to the Survivor.
    • Tier 2: 9% slower action speed.
    • Tier 3: 12% slower action speed.
    • Tier 4: 12% slower action speed, 12% slower run speed.
    • Tier 5: 20% slower action speed, can no longer run. When a chase is initiated by the killer, you become paralyzed and hide your face while screaming.
(Change Note: Has been improved so it's harder to gain a bar, easier to lose a bar.)

Perk 2: Drowning Presence: By simply being near them, living things around you start losing their grasp on existence. Survivors within your terror radius have their screens filled with static, impairing vision and hearing. Effect gets stronger the closer you are to them.

    • Quiet Heartbeat: 5/10/15% of screen covered, mild static sound.
    • Loud Heartbeat: 15/20/25% of screen covered, medium static sound.
    • Dramatic Music: 30/50/75% of screen covered, loud static sound.
    • Touching Target: 100% of screen covered, can't hear anything but static.

"I remember- the beast was preparing for a strike... and after that, it's all hazy. What happened? How am I alive?" -Lost Tapes

(Change Note: Perk was entirely replaced.)

Additionally, you vault 1/2/3% faster.
(Change Note: Vault Speed increase has been improved.

What happens is when you're in your first chase, you can destroy a pallet or vault at 2x speed. After that (from your 2nd chase onwards), every time you vault a window, you will get a speed boost. This affects all chases after the first chase. So yeah its permanent after the first chase, but you must be IN a chase for the perk to activate.

I love the extra vault speed thing you added to the perk! Its just a little under powered. Normally a killer vaults a window at 1.7 seconds. With that perk at max level, it would only decrease the speed by .05 seconds (making it a 1.65 second vault). Personally, i would just tune the numbers from 1/2/3 percent to 2.5/5/7.5 percent. This way, at max level the perk will allow a killer to vault at roughly 1.5 seconds which is not to big but since the killer gets a speed boost after vaulting with this perk, it would be perfect.

The abillity is AMAZING now! It would be cool to see what meta would come from this!

I like the idea of a “reverse Carter’s Spark”. It’s really unique and does make the Killer’s first (delayed) chase really frightening.

I decided to expand upon this concept by adding a little Bonus Trivia section, to try and rationalize some of my choices. I debated on adding addons, but it was far too much work and balancing, much more than a puny mine like mine could handle. Because I'm lazy.

    Bonus Trivia

    • I chose Springtrap over the titular Freddy Fazbear for a multitude of reasons. Freddy has no real reason to be hunting people down, as he is just a murder victim, VS. Springtrap who fits the criteria for a killer perfectly; someone who used to be human but has gone completely savage who was summoned by the Entity due to extreme acts of violence. Also, he looks creepier.
    • I chose the Crowbar as his weapon of choice as his murder weapon isn't really known. So, instead I went with a Crowbar because not only is it a unique weapon no other killer would really have, but also it represents all his animal robot body suit disassembling he did.
    • Perk 1: Dead Eyes: was selected due to Springtrap's dead robo-eyes. Self-explanatory.
    • Perk 2 0.1: Drowning Presence: Was made to represent the static effect on the cameras that was used across the FNaF series.
    • Perk 2 0.2: Crawlspace: Is to represent how, as one of his programmed paths, green robo-bunny man could use the vents to attack the player.
    • Perk 3: Under Surveillance: is simple enough. It represents how you would keep tabs on all the threats throughout the FNaF series, the surveillance system, AKA, the cameras. Springtrap in particular was always aware of camera locations and tried to hide in their blindspots, so... it just kinda fits.
    • This Fan-Made DLC was chosen to be a Paragraph, AKA a standalone killer similar to Leatherface, due to certain reasons. See, none of the Night Guards in Five Nights at Freddy's history have had a concrete appearance, personality, or really anything other than names. There's even a chance according to Game Theory (however may credible HE be nowadays) that some of the night guards were Springtrap's son, and; well, it's a super confusing can of worms. Finally, if they were just to conjure up some random night guard looking dude, I'd fear he would look too similar to Tapp anyway as far as outfit goes, so it wasn't worth the trouble. Standalone killer Springtrap is.

    Hey, sorry for the necro!

Anyway, I saw this on reddit. It was based off this exact post! Or Idk this could be FROM you lmao. Anyway here it is:

Eh, could be a coincidence. I'm not the first to think of Springtrap for Dead by Daylight.

This post is outdated anyway, with several bad ideas, so I don't mind anyone copycatting it. Thanks anyway though!

This is actually my worst killer concept why does this keep getting positive comments :(

  • AxelockeAxelocke Member Posts: 27

This is shockingly brilliant and well thought. By the end of the post I could envision Springtrap in Dead by Daylight's lighting with it's eyes piercing through the night. Thanks for sharing this, it was a delight to read.

I agree that springtrap would be the franchise killer to pick for dbd.

Idea seems interesting. I assume he has base 115% movement speed and default 32m terror radius. The effect to force survivors close is interesting, but the rates at which Dread is accumulated or lost might be the hardest points to balance.

The only thing i think he's missing is some M2 ability. Just having the passive effect seems dull for the killer player.

Even if he's your worst concept, atleast you posted it and threw your concept into the naggers haha

For a second I thought I was reading: The Cornfield (but that would be a legit Killer because it actually kills me all the time)

The Cornfield is an Annoying AF killer, capable of making you unable to see [BAD WORD] with his power [BAD WORD] You.
