How about changing the ebony mori ?

Hey cute ppl of the fog,

wouldn't it be pretty nice if the DEV's would completly remove ebony mori's as an offering ? Imo ebony mori's are just not fun to play tbh but I am pretty sure that some ppl would disagree.

My idea: Remove ebony mori and bring something (maybe?) better in the game. A killer should be able to mori a survivor WITHOUT an offering AFTER 2 hooks. I don't now if mori's would lose their "specialty" by a change like that but I think it would be a cool move tbh. if killers just could kill the survivors after the sec hook.

    I know Mori is pretty unbalanced, but in just my opinion mind you: survivors have keys to open the hatch, the fact that people don't use them often shouldn't be a counter argument, it's there and it makes things Alot easier survivor wise.

    Just like how Mori makes it Alot easier killer wise.

    The downvotes lol. At current state keys are pretty necessary, gates are spawning to close to each other

    Remove keys and mori (offerings). Every time I play Pig two survivors jump in the hatch!😂

    I'm fine with keeping Ebony Moris in the game, it's awesome to see kills happening in the game at the killer's hand. BUT.

    It needs to be reworked. Killers complain about games being short but they have an offering that cuts a game short by at least 50% of the playtime. And it has zero counterplay. It cannot be avoided and you cannot do anything about it. Hello?

    Moris should only work on death hook, not first hook. This needs to be reworked.

    It's hilarious how Killah Mainz cry about getting "gEn-RuSheD" but then bring Ebony Moris and tunnel 1 by 1.

    Keys are significantly different.

    They require a lot of preparation to use, and unless you're in SWF you are not going to take the entire team with you. And for it to save the entire team you need to actually finish all the gens, so that's just a normal game.

    It does not circumvent the game to the same extent that Ebony Mori does.

    For Keys to work with no gens completed, you would still have killed 3 of the survivors. How does that cut the match short exactly? If 2 survivors want to use it the game still has to have progressed to finish 3 gens and 2 people were killed normally. Three people using the key means 4 gens done. It does cut the match short, but not to the extent that a mori does.

    Further, if EGC weren't what it is, I wouldn't mind removing keys, but with the way the game has developed and with how EGC is right now, keys are required in the game because it's usually the only way a survivor will get out alive in EGC. Rework EGC before removing keys.

    Also, keys have counterplay. Killers can see it in the lobby so they can prep for it by using Franklins and/or just tunneling the [BAD WORD] out of the keybearer. It is not something you cannot do anything about like an Ebony Mori.

    Keys are needed until door spawns are fixed.

    I'm a killer main who sees both sides and door spawns need to be fixed. Then keys and moris. Killers want everything to be easy at the expense of the survivor but somethings are actually needed more than others.

    Sooooo basically if you're on death hook and get downed you're dead. No one has a chance to flashlight save or hook block or pallet slam. Only death haha I don't like that tbh.

    I would trade all my Skeleton Keys to delete Mori’s.

    That is an easy argument.

    Mori's are not rare. Nothing "rare" is really rare to be honest... on either side.

    I like the idea behind them, but I do agree a Ebony Mori match against a competent in even the slightest way Killer is just too one sided. Keys still require all 5 gens done for a 4E. Mori is skipping a entire hook and is easy to camp/tunnel the first person to quickly snowball the match.

    That being said, there's probably other more pressing issues. I don't mind Ebony as much as I do Prayer Beads or OHKO hatchets for example.

    keys and moris cannot really be compared; keys only become useful when the hatch spawns, which is either at the end of the game (if everyone is alive) or earlier after people have died. a mori is in play after one person has been hooked one time

    my suggestion for a mori has always been to reduce their impact on the game while rewarding the player - maybe give more BP for a mori kill instead of a sacrifice, but make them only usable on death hook, or after a certain number of generators are done, or something. as of right now if a killer wants to come back to your hook, hit you off hook and then remove you from the game they're allowed to, and to be able to do that to everyone in a game is honestly beyond absurd

    i don't want moris removed but i want their use to be catered towards seeing a cool death animation or a personal reward rather than gaining an enormous advantage in a game just by playing an offering

    Just make the ebony mori very rare (instead of ultra) and Increase the activation condition to two hooks. As for keys, maybe a gen limit should be surpassed before a key can be used?

    I have no clue, these are just my suggestions.

    a gen limit already exists for a key unless you're the last one left in the game, since a gen limit already applies to the hatch

    Yep, once doors are fixed I would really welcome a change/rework of keys and ebony moris. Both is just messing to much with the balance.

    It was not my intention to conjure a balance discussion thread actually. Tbh I just wanted to know what u guys think about the idea that the killer should be allowed to kill survivors after 2 hooks. But I recognize now that this would be more problematic than I thought cuz of DS and other stuff.

    Mori is fine as it is now.

    Free kill after 2 hooks is actually super strong. You don't waste hooks, now 3 gen would be even stronger, because you have to take a perk for hooks, or kill first person away from your 3 gens. Your proposition just removes the 'problem'. Bloodwarden super strong too.

    Just another not needed change that would indirectly buff already strong strategies.

    If you want to remove mori, first get rid of thicker fog and white ward. Black ward would stay, because killers can't get free addons.
