Dc'ing so another survivor can get the hatch

Basically there are 2 survivors dead, 1 dc's so the other can get the hatch. This is pretty annoying since it denies the killer to actually play for his 3 or 4k and can sometimes totally screw up the killer's attempt of getting an Adept.
I think the hatch shouldn't instantly open when someone Dc's and should only open after a few seconds or a minute to give the killer a chance to close it or get the last survivor.
What do you guys think? And has anybody else been having trouble with this?

DCing to give someone else the hatch is fine. They are losing every single BP earnt in that match (plus items and offerings assuming they were running them).
Sadly there are several exploits with dcing that keeps items. No loss of pips, and the only thing you lost was BP. @My_Farewell either way it shouldn't be a thing in the game. The entity spike thing should play on the dc'd body. That is about as long as the hook animation. Which would balance out the issue. Mechanics should encourage staying in the game.
You do lose pips now with a DC. Likely the person wanted to start another match and not stare at the floor for 4 minutes while two other people got to play.
As far as i know only console killers can keep their stuff by DCing in a certain way which i won't mention.
Feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.
its a dirty tactic to win, like camping or tunnelling or how caming/tunnelling defenders say theyre just doing their job
This has never really bothered me as a killer. In fact, I'll generally get a chuckle out of it, thinking 'Well, that's one way to escape. lol' It's just not that big a deal to me.
You won't DC if you're a fair gamer. I'm not 100% sure, but it would also be against the rules I think.
Some of the replies in this topic are rather embarassing and highlight the terrible mentality that exists in the community.
It's breaking Terms of Service. There is no opinion to be had, it's quite black and white.
LOL
Nope can be done on PC as well @My_Farewell
I think devs said that people that DC would leave like a "husk" behind, so this won't be a problem anymore.
Again DCing is not a mechanic of what the game considers gameplay. They attempt to punish it by every means. So you either should stop abusing this functionality or any others that make you 'lose' your connection. Or simply don't play? Get good comes to mind? I get occasional rage quits, however, it is blatant ignorance at this point.
Edit: Generally most dc's either screw the survivor team over or ruin the pressure the killer has at a particular time. Again possibly ruining the fun for another player. It should not be rewarded.
I'm not encouraging DC'ing at all.
I literally just said it's something I do because I'd rather not lay on the ground bleeding out for 10 minutes while the killer plays hide and seek, trying to get a 4k.
Nice try though XD
I'm under no obligation to stay in a match where I literally can't do anything and am holding my teammate back
@RakimSockem I am not sure how familiar you are with the game. Unbreakable comes to mind? If you got slugged and can't do anything who's fault is it? You have a bleed out timer so simply bleed out. Punish the killer by moving somewhere. Your teammate in many cases can pick you up from a safe spot.
It's not every day that someone admits to baby raging every time they're slugged "to deny the 4k" while simultaneously talking about a 10 minute bleed out timer.
What a Monday!
@Jdsgames I'd rather not waste a perk slot for a perk I may not even get to use if I don't get slugged. No thanks.
And you asked whose fault is it if I get slugged? literally the killer's fault XD
So by your logic: A killer should lag switch or hack if the survivors are doing good because it is the survivors fault? Hmm perks that may not always be used: A few come to mind... Dying Light, Noed, Deliverance, No mither, unbreakable, decisive strike, etc. Who's fault is it that you are on the ground? Apparently you got caught. Being slugged means your teammate is not healing you back up. Therefore who's fault is it really? I will just leave it at that. It is clear it is an ignorance situation. Hopefully when dedicated servers and they actually punish for your behavior we will see less of your slimy tactics.
I've only ever disconnected once when slugged, and that was because I needed to leave and couldn't leave the PS4 running. I got the killer's attention, pointed to the hook, and they slugged me for the 4k instead of hooking me, so I had to disconnect.
When I play survivor, I know that being slugged is a possibility. That's part of the game. I've gotten the hatch while slugged. I've had killers slug me and then give me the hatch after killing the other survivor. I've had survivors pick me up and we escape. You never know what'll happen.
As killer, I've had the third survivor disconnect the moment I down them. I wasn't even going to slug for the 4k, I was going to hook them, and they disconnected. So yeah, it's not even about "I don't want to be slugged for 4 minutes"; it's just about denying the killer anything they can. It's petty and it's poor sportsmanship.
Supposedly they're implementing punishments for DC'ing soon.
@My_Farewell absolutely not. It's an exploit, and one of the more scummy ones. The killer won, yet you're ok with stealing his pips and points from him? Come on. You know it's terribly unfair.
@CreatorTH is right. There should be at least the same delay as with a third hook stage, before hatch opens.
I don't have a problem with slugging for the 4k, but it is a sweaty move and you can't blame someone for not wanting to sit there waiting. I'd rather move on to the next match.
It's one of the reasons I quit playing survivor. Too many sweaty killers and I needed to be able to get to the next match asap if I was going to maximize BP gain. But no, the sweaty 13 year old had to have their 4k and most of the time they failed to get it.
@George_Soros
I could understand slugging to get the 4K when killers couldn't close the hatch, but now? Nah
@My_Farewell actually yeah, there's a lot less of that lately. I usually just slug the third, go search for hatch, go back and hook the guy. I have plenty of time to go back to the hatch and close it before he's sacrificed. Takes a lot less time than it used to without the option to close the hatch. Yet another thing that has been greatly improved, thanks to EGC.
The disconected survivor should be banned for a couple of hours. Now that would be the ultimate sacrifice for a friend ;-)
Hey guys,
Please stop tunneling and camping and fix da NOED...
Oh, we had a fun game with none of those....but you slugged me.....DC :D
Me not entitled!
You toxic!
Where is the downvote when I need it... There are several comments in this post that deserve to be downvoted to hell
I only say 1 thing.
DC = Game Mechanic = Bad for the game
Gives me a good chuckle.
There's definitely a few users here I'll be ignoring in any future game health/balance/fair play discussions.
