The perk is no risk high rewards so I suggest a totem counter or a notification that the killer has the perk. Now they must protect one totem at all time to get the perk.
Yup,adding a totem counter would be perfect.
This perk rewards noobs,I hate it.
Make it so it’s permanent when the gens are all powered, no wait.. only allow for it to be 2 minutes, no wait.. put it on a totem, no wait...
People who complain abput Noed are not good enough at the game to make suggestions about it.
People who use NOED are not good enough at the game to judge people who make suggestions about it.
I would post a full-screen message before every match starts:
Dear survivors: Totems are a legit objective. Treat them as such.
Also, instead of a counter, I would add a distinctive sound once all totems have been cleansed.
You haven't heard the sound yet? Look for the rest of the totems, then.
This isn't about being good or bad. The same could be said for people who use adrenaline or any other perk.
NOED exists as a bandaid for "5 gens in 4 minutes" matches. Totems are a legit objective.
A totem counter would be a really nice way to 'nerf' this perk without actually nerfing it yeah, might be the sleekest solution.
No they are not. Cleansing them accomplishes nothing but wasting time, unless every single one of them is found, and then only IF the killer was running NOED. Every single game where people are cleansing dull totems and the killer doesn't have NOED, they have only hurt themselves by being inefficient and giving the killer more time that he would otherwise have.
Ridiculous to call them an objective with how little they accomplish.
Make every totem cleansed give a notification hex or not to both sides with a sound unique to totems.
Counters are nice and all but I prefer to think when I play. Imo there is already too much info being given with icons on the screen for every single thing which negates the effectiveness of some perks like MYC For example.
I actually preferred the game when I had to be aware of possible perks and not be told everything.
- Increase movement speed by 5%
- Action speeds by 75% (vaulting, picking up, hooking, breaking pallets)
- Make blinds take 50% longer
- Reduce all stuns by 50%
- Increase FOV by 15 degrees
- Make survivors always hear your TR as if you are right near them (and you're effected by all TR based perks)
Yes, all of them. 😈
Well, if you don't see the logic behind them being an objective, you kind of deserve being downed by NOED, especially playing against weaker killers.
They waste time??
Breaking news. That's exactly the point.
Cleansing them awards you Emblem points, BP, and prevents NOED. The last one is claimed to prevent escapes, and all three (pips, BP, and escapes) are considered win conditions, depending on the player.
To summarize, totems are objectives by every definition of what it means to win.
5 gens ez
5 totems WUTface
Then all of those times where the killer doesn't have NOED, or not every last totem is found, or you don't even reach the endgame, you screw yourselves out of time.
In SWF it can be easy to keep track of totem counts and therefore make it worthwhile without wasting tons of time, but I think cleansing dulls is just kind of bad play in solos as it stands unless you're just doing it for bloodpoints. I love seeing broken totems when I walk around as killer, 'cause I never run this perk :p
I would just change the way I play and cleanse the totems, personally. It's only a total 70 seconds of cleansing split between all survivors, and chances are someone's going to pass by each totem at least once throughout the game. You don't have to spend much time at all.
I'd also be in favour of a totem counter, though. It helps bridge the gap between solo players and full groups who can already count the number of totems cleansed.
Well I insist, that's exactly the point. NOED or no NOED, totems are there to be cleansed by everyone.
I always play solo and equip small game. Many times I've cleansed all of the totems in a match. I think survivors should understand they have to do 1.25 gens and 1.25 totems too, as an objective.
It's ridiculous to put a surprised pikachu face when you get downed by NOED when you didn't want to do a single one of them.
It's fine as if, but if I had to change it I would add a token count that requires 6 hooks for it to activate. This way the killer cant just play the long con and 1hko at the end. I would go so far as if this change was added then on the 3rd hook it will respawn a single totem from 3rd hook onwards at the end game.
Yall are really beating a dead horse with these noed threads..
theorycrafting noed threads in 2019.
Same could be said about DS, keys, moris, etc. Most of the things complained about here have been and will continue to be complained about.. forever.
sometimes noed prevents natural thinking process
Cleansing totems every game is a precaution in case NOED is equipped.
Killer doesn't use NOED? Well that's okay at least you got bloodpoints out of it, even if they weren't much.
NOED was equipped? Good thing we did all those totems, it never even had the chance to be activated in EGC.
i think theres many op perks like noed
but this game should have meta and grind like dc noed bc and other 1tier perks as well
cause those keep makes people can find more fun from them
Ok, then people who use insta-heals and tool boxes are not good enough either. 🤷♂️
Do the heckin bones is what I’d do.
and if theres any plan to nerf this perk i can try that more carefully
like notice survivors only noed activated like other exposed effecting situations
Personally I believe NOED is fine because it's 16 seconds per totem for a total of around 80 seconds. If survivors cannot stall the game for that long to do totems they deserve to die tbh.
Now if I had to change the perk to put an incentive on doing totems I'd make totems a more serious objective. That way the "optional objective" mentality would slowly be broken.
Now it's a compromise between both sides. It's now baseline so killers no longer waste a perk slot for NOED and survivors have the easiest way to know if they're about to get 1 tapped by an easily preventable perk. Because it's going to be in every game it becomes more straight forward that survivors need to cleanse instead of potentially wasting time if there actually wasn't NOED.
Or you could just leave it as it is and cleanse totems what ever works you know?
Alert survivors when the perk is active, not when the killer hits someone.
That or a totem counter.
Leave NOED alone, unless you're willing to sacrifice Adrenaline as well.
I cleanse well hidden totems that I come across and leave easily found alone incase of NoED. Its important to leave the easy ones up so it increases the spawn chance on them instead of other hidden ones.
