PS4 player so I have not faced the new Freddy yet. What is the best way to deal with him now? Those pallets look like a pain.
Slam all the pallets you encounter while out of a chase and then ignore any you aren't sure are real when in a chase. This way his Dream Pallet add-on is useless. :^)
@GodDamn_Angela first Freddy I get I am doing this 😁
You loop him just like every other M1 killer.
Except for snares, and your loops will include palletes which may not be real. Not saying he’s top tier but it’s not quite that easy, almost though sadly
As I understand he cannot use snares and pallets in the same match due to it being an add-on.
That means if he has snares then he hasn't dream pallets?
Don’t be scared of the snares, you can sometimes sidestep around the snares, if blood starts spewing from your gen, run.
@GrootDude I will remember that, similar to the trappers trap hit box?
Yes - there's a couple add-ons that changes dream snares to dream pallets instead. Cannot be both.
Don’t listen to me about sidestepping,I’m still fully learning his snares.
Snares: easy to avoid, if you get trapped, throw pallet immediately if Freddy is near. Otherwise, it is pretty easy to ignore unless in a close chase. Small Game should work against snares.
Pallets: Memorize where chases have already occured, not sure if Windows of Opportunity or Small Game helps against this.
That is an idea....a good one in general. But, then you won't have a defense against him, minus windows and bait switching. Or do you employ another method?
Not knowing which pallets are real isn't much of a defense in the first place when it really needs to count. Or do survivors need to walk the map while awake and hope to remember which ones are real just to have that info invalidated when another survivor throws pallets and they get replaced by fakes anyway?
There's only three ways survivors can defend themselves - vaults, pallets, stealth and with each update devs find ways to screw with each.
I was only giving a jokereal strategy on how to deal with his pallets. You want to survive against him? Don't look at me I've died in every match I've had against New Freddy so far. Usually first.
Snares - Laugh at Freddy and continue to loop him to high hell. Stay asleep and pop his traps like hag. Not like he can do anything about it across the map. Again as others have said the hitbox on them are wonky. Remember he has no real special power to stop you from leaving so take the hit and come back to the pallet later. Learn how most loops run. Jungle Gyms are the most hostile loops to any killer if they rotate the loop wrong you can easily frequently make that jungle gym a 3/4+ loop rotations over and over. Rely on decent vault and building locations. If he starts to put a snare leave the area go to the next. Remember these traps get reused by hag so if he is trying to trap a building up during a chase leave it. When he uses 8 traps go back to the original building. Taking a hit and dropping a pallet when only necessary.
Pallets - Give a stern look at Freddy knowing he has the upper hand. Those alarm clocks use them frequently. Staying asleep during this add-on is the worst idea. As you go through look at a specific area or two with sets of pallets. Know them well these are the ones you know are real and can loop a Freddy in dream state. If you know you have dropped a pallet in a specific area: Killer Shack and when you fall asleep and see one there break it immediately don't let your team fall for a trap. Again what is he going to do a mile away? Do not attempt to throw a pallet down you think is a dream pallet. This will only screw you up by dropping real pallets leaving less counter-play. Again as stated above learn loop structures because he still is M1 at heart.
Projection: Back off generally they like to tease you. However, don't take the chance it isn't worth the free hit. Also remember if you are going to heal do it at a completed generator or complete the generator then heal. This makes it so he can't teleport to you directly and why would he go searching around areas of completed generators. Also realise with auto-gen teleportation most freddy's will want to run Pop Goes the Weasel it may be ideal to pound out gens as a team rather than spread apart. However, I haven't tested this myself.
