My idea to "balance" the end game collapse just little bit

The EGC has been one of the points of tension in the community for quite some time now, survivors think its way too hard to escape because killers have it too easy to patrol the exit gates while killers say keys give the survivors an unfair chance of escape.

My idea to change it consists of 2 simple changes

  • Survivors can now open the hatch by themselves once the EGC has started (it would take 30 seconds to open hatch).
  • Opening the hatch with a key now takes 5 seconds.

On one hand, survivors now are no longer utterly effed by the EGC, the hatch being another source of escape will force killers to patrol more than just the 2 gates giving the survivors a "fairer" chance of escape.

On the other hand survivors wont be able to just jump on the hatch after the killer has closed it.

In my opinion this is a nice way to deal with the EGC """problem""" we have that makes it so frustrating to some players.

I think that despite everything, the survivors should have a fair chance of escaping in the EGC, its usually really hard or just straight impossible to escape sometimes because the gates spawn too close together.

One thing, survivor need at least 3 people to make the gate powered. 3 other survivors fail to survive in any mean: DC, farming other to death, tunneled, can make a chase last at least 1min...should not cause the last survivor an impossible escape.

Im not saying the current EGC is impossible escape for survivors. But I want it more 'fair'.

I do think if there is one survivor left, the last opened chest will ensure a dull key. Give the last survivor a 'safe' way to escape but time consuming, hatch only spawn if there are 3 gens left, the dull key in the last opened chest only happens if there are 2 gens left. -> If survivor team fail to fix at least 2 gens, then I agree it should be a 4k for killer. Currently either 5gen left or 1 gen left, there is no different for the last survivor.

I don't like the EGC, but not because its survivor or killer sided, but because it's based on RNG. Either the killer gets [BAD WORD] because the gates are far apart, or the lone survivor gets [BAD WORD] because the gates are close together. Sure it may be "balanced" in a sense, but luck shouldn't be apart of the games mechanics.

I dont think 3K is a lose for Killer. To me the game is balance if the kill rate for a Killer is 50-70% (2-3 surivors killed per game)

That's precisely the problem with that: "to you".

I consider a 3k a loss, especially one that got obtained via a non-deserved Hatch escape. Other Killer players on the other hand may be very happy when they just get 2 Survivors. What is and isn't a win is subjective.

They just need to make the door spawns fixed. That way it can be fair to both and not something that can be easily camped. Limit the spawns some if they still want to make it somewhat RNG. It's always laughable when a killer tunnels people down and gloats over their "success" and "win" while the gates were literally on the same wall. Like what do you expect survivors to do exactly?

I dont have a problem with the ecg. I have a problem with how close the gates and hatch can spawn together. Especially with an easy high mobility killer.

    Its [BAD WORD].

I think the EGC is fine. Survivors ive seen escape it typically do the same thing very well. which is hiding until they've seen the killer travel far enough away to begin opening the door. Occasionally stopping when they suspect the killer is too close by looking around, TR, or a perk like spine chill.

If the doors are close, which means they're probably on the same wall usually. I've never seen both doors spawn in the same corner touching butts so I dont think that's possible. On the same wall there is usually sight for the killer after some travel. If its GF or MM it is sub optimal for the survivor as they can stalk and the game can spot the survivor for the killer at that point, also no TR.

But the survivors do have an advantage of being table to easily spot the killer as they will most likely take the shortest route. And with enough skill, or mind gaming capabilities can dip in and out of gate openings to where the killer wont spot them even with a straight shot between gates.

If the gates spawn across the map, which is more likely on smaller maps for obvious reasons, then it is a little different. It is also possible for them to spawn at opposite sides on larger maps. The route the killer takes between gates may not be as obvious and there may be cover that both killer and surv can use. If there is cover and/or stealth killer, spine chill would be preferable as it can alert you and boost your opening speed for that butt clenching moment the killer spots you and the gate is almost open.

If the spawns are opposite ends of a large map and you see the killer leave then your golden unless the killer decides to mind game you and pull a u-turn.

If you can't escape by yourself then try getting better at saving your teammates so you can escape together.

EGC is like a large scale mind game for both sides and can be won by either side equally but certain killers, perks and maps can shift the tide.

Only problem..survival rating at rank one on PC is 80 percent..I say no...this is not even close to an issue when the collapse barely gives the killer more of a chance

These are from..2 or 3 dev streams ago? Devs showed off some of their statistics..they also showed usages of moris based on killer, killer performances both top 3 and bottom 3 etc..you can see for yourself if you look back a bit

Most times the exit gates are very close together, so its pretty pointless when you are alone.
