Why don't killers and survivors get the same ammout of compensation for disconnects?
Because if anything it screws the survivors more so than the killer

I believe they are adding a DC bonus for survivors in the next patch, but don’t quote me on that.
They are but its only 600 BP and Killers get 1500 BP
I don't understand why you wouldn't be compensated the same amount
Killer gets penalised by basically removing part of the bp gain and rank points gain for the rest of the match.
Survivor have it harder but it doesn't really remove their ability to gain BP's.
Killer can't chase, down and hook another survivor which takes away a lot of income.
and survivors can't heal unhook or do co-ops with disconnected players. So disconnects takes away survivor income too.
These are both really good points, not to mention with 1 less survivor it will massively hinder your chances of escaping and winning
I will admit it does make things difficult. On both ends, I use BBC and disconnectors kinda screw that over. Plus, the biggest issue with DBD is you need all 4, when one is gone, that means less time can be wasted for your other 3 team mates to get gen progression done. I always hated that design mentality for survivors because if one guy commits suicide on the hook or dcs, that much just got a whoooooole lot harder.
