No, cleansing it doesn't mean you'll be Exposed for a minute.
Since "Trapped" does not necessarily mean they'll be Exposed once they cleanse it, it just means there's a trap on this/these specific Hex Totem(s).
So what trap does this Offering have?
Simple: It's just a waste of time.
Once cleansed, you don't get Bloodpoints for cleansing it.
Instead, the Bloodpoints go to the Killer in the Deviousness category.
Other than that, it functions just like a regular Hex Totem: It counts as a Token for Hex: Thrill of the Hunt & the Perk affects the cleanse speed on that Hex Totem, it gives away the Survivor's location once it's cleansed, it makes noise and burns brightly, etc. etc.

If the dull from Ethereal Flame counts as a token for Thrill and could be turned into NOED it’s not fair the survivor who will cleanse it won’t get any BP for it. It should go into killer’s Deviousness category but still rewarding the survivor for cleansing it.

Trapped Hex Totems made by Hex: Haunted Ground also count towards Hex: Thrill of the Hunt.
This Offering replaces the trap effect from "being Exposed, but gaining Bloodpoints" to "no Status Effect, but also no Bloodpoints".
No good survivor will run the candle offering , why would they nerf themselves? More totems makes every hex perk harder to find . Why clog up survivor offerings with this when we could run a common bloodpoint offering
I agree on what you say IF the offering creates an extra Hex Totem so that there are 6 totems on the map. I disagree if Ethereal Flame replaces a dull with a fake Hex that gives no BPs.
It says create, just like the other 2 Offerings.
It's okay if you don't want to use them.
Some people like using Mist Offerings, some don't.

This would literally be an offering that makes survivors less likely to survive , it would cost 3000 Bloodpoints on the web and they would only get 1000 bloodpoints for cleansing the totem .This item would have no purpose and would only serve to worsen survivor item pools , imagine getting these instead of sachets toolboxes or medkits
Or more likely since you can decide to use it when using a Totem-search build or using Inner Strength.
It's not meant to give a full return for your Bloodpoints, that's what Bloodpoint Offerings do.
It's meant for you to make use of Totems when you want to.
I wouldn't mind one bit if these replace the Sachets that give back 2000 at most, the Toolbox that has 5 better versions of which 2 spawn way more frequently, or the Med-Kit that's only used for insta-heals which will be removed soon.

If I were using a totem search build I wouldn't spawn more totems ,and getting another potential inner strength heal isn't worth making Hexes harder to find. Also sachets give 50% Bloodpoints so they give 4000 at max (0.5 X 8000 = 4000
These should all be killer offerings. Making extra totems makes ruin harder to find. Makes noed more likely to proc. Maybe just make 1 extra.

Whether that's worth it or not is opinion-based, hence why using Offerings is optional. 😊

I like this concept a lot. Makes totems less unreliable... even if not by much.
No i meant most likely no survivor would use these as it benefits the killer more. And thinking about the interaction with noed, 2 more totems is probably way too much. Sodium content is already through the roof with that perk.
Make them all killer offerings
Maybe common, create one more dull totem, gain 25% of bloodpoints when a survivor cleanses a totem (survivor gets the 1000bp for cleansing, killer gets 250bp)
Uncommon, create one more dull totem, gain 50% of bloodpoints when a survivor cleanses a totem
And then ethereal flame stays the same.
