Bamboozle is going to be the new top tier perk

I know, call me Nostradamus, but it seems really strong. I hope to god it isn't nerfed. Because faster vault speed shuts down obnoxious loops and can shut down said obnoxious loop spots. The looping with the Killer Shack is no longer going to be a tedious game of ring around the rosy with this perk.

All his 3 perks seem particularly strong, which makes it interesting. Bamboozle can potentially be used for really nice plays.

You overestimate that perk. It will only really help for infinites or killer shack.

Remember that this perk forces you to vault a window (still not worth it if you can walk around) AND it works for one window at a time, for a very short amount of time. If the survivor was good enough before to infinite you, they will probably find a way to make up for this perk with the pallets around.

That being said it looks like the Fire Up we always wanted to have ^.^

Finally something to counter infinites, but survivors will cry hard and it will be nerfed before it even hits live server, mark my words

Don't forget the vault speed boost. I think completely cutting off certain loop spots would make it worth it. Especially considering loops where you HAVE to use the vault, you can't walk around it like the shack or the barn in Fractured Cowshed or the entirety of Lery's or Rancid Abbatoir (the window in the slaughter house) or Wretched Shop or or OR the gas station in Gas Haven.

Or OR OR OR! That freaking window in the warehouse in Ironworks of Misery. We all know what window I'm talking about.

That's why I said it was an improved Fire Up ^^ The Brutal Strengh for windows. But remember that even if values look good on paper, in reality they're not that great. Brutal Strengh, Thanatophobia - they are nice but don't change that much.

And your exemples are what I called "infinites". Not infinites per say, but still - main buildings windows can be looped for a while and your only solution is to drop the chase (yes, even in 2018, you can't chase in some areas...). But this perk will block these windows... for a time. In some maps they will still pallet loop you around before vaulting that window again

Not saying it's a bad perk, though. It's a good one. But I believe it will stay situational most of the time, except for the main buildings.

Okay, my bad. You're right! A friend told me it was like EW3 speed, which is really great ^^
    Kudo on you!

Yeah same as make your choice was supposed to be a meta perk then failing miserably.

Its conditions make the perk situational for any killer besides Hag or Nurse maybe. Same like BBQ is amazing on Hillbilly, but kinda meh on every other ones since it acts like Whispers (gives you a vague hint about the location where a survivor could be).

Bamboozle still looks like it could be a good/great perk but very tactical and hard to use well.

  • RuniverRuniver Member Posts: 2,095

Bamboozle is gonna be useful on several killers, indeed.
    Could be close to "meta".

I know I'm gonna use it on my Billy, since one of the main trouble I have is people using vaults extensively, against him, especially at the shack or at strong spots such as Rancid Abbatoir for example. It will turn these vaults, if the survivors try to go back at it, into death chainsaw traps, which is gonna be quite good imo.
I already get quite a few catches on the PTB due to that perk on the clown.

I'm not at my PC, but I believe Fire Up allows 12% faster vaulting at 4 tokens and I'm not sure what Tier 3 of Bamboozle is, but I think it's 15%. That's quite the stacked amount of fast vaulting, but it's centered more around end game at that point.

    14% for Fire up.
Fire up is pretty bad tho.

nah, that survivor perk where you can see all the pallets is waaaaay stronger than this, interesting how yet again the killer is fairly week and the strongest thing is a survivor perk..prolly just coincidence, right?

think of an freddy using the %50 slower healing and using dying light lol %50 slower from perk %50 slower from freddy dream and %25 from dyling light 125% healing penalty

It's only 16% faster vaulting with Bamboozle at Tier 3. Combining it with Fire Up it's insanely fast. I think its like a 1 sec vault.

Anyone seen this from Monto? This build on Myers is freaking insane in the new PTB

15% for Bamboozle, but the main feat is that it blocks windows.
Not to mention it's active very early game, and can catch survivors by surprise, especially if used by stealth killers such as Wraith or Pig, and it can make Billy super punishing if the survivor tries for that windows and ends up blocked.

Eh, its not that strong. 16 seconds and only effects one window. The faster vaulting is 1% extra compared to Fire Up with 4 stacks. There are much better perks honestly.

I can see it being useful in long chases around buildings but it just seems meh to me.

Fire up with 4 stacks is very situational compared to being able to block the shack's window early game, or any strong vault, really.
My main issue when I play Billy is usually these strong vaults and the time survivors can force you to waste using the shack extensively and eventually some strong vaulting windows.
Even tho I oftenly drop chases as BIlly since you can usually afford it, this will definitely surprise a lot of survivor not to be able to use vaults repeatedly due to the blocking, and will definitely bring me a lot more chainsaw hits in general, at least that's what I think.
Might try it on the PTB to be sure.

Certain window setups still allow for an infinite to be possible even with Bamboozle.

I doubt it'll be even good on Billy honesty.

Why invest in a long chase to block a window? Maps like Red Forest is completely immune from this, since the survivor can just go through one of the other 4 in that building. Besides the survivors will know you'll have the perk because of the sound it makes when it blocks the window.

You might be better off with Pop the Weasel for Billy in my opinion. But if you'll think it helps go for it.

And Make Your Choice is pointless on Billy. So only two Killers in the game can really make use of that perk and the Hag HAS to use good add-ons so she can take advantage of it.

In fact, you don't need to teleport for Hag to make use of this perk. This perk has a HUGE psychological pressure, and here's why:

    • Punishes the first bold escape (teleport-hit). Makes the following saves slower.
    • Exposed survivors will have to crouch everywhere in order to not be punished by a trap-teleport - slow down the game. (Works as well with a slug build)
    • Exposed survivors tend to panic during chases, and thus drop more pallets and make mindgame mistakes (for example: if they trigger a trap near a pallet, they will vault the pallet back to you, if you don't teleport you will down them).
    • With your 16m terror radius (Monitor & Abuse required), you can sneak on survivors easily.

It's a very tactical perk, and like Knock Out and Bamboozled, it can lead to interesting gameplays if you know how to exploit them well on Hag ^.^

Yeah, this perk really shut down the shack stuff for sure.
