This change is amazing out of all the changes this is probably what I'm most excited about. Definitely a step in the right direction by the Devs well done.
For solos maybe
What is the change?
Yeah but isn't that what the game needs? It's a perk that is kind of redundant for SWF but makes playing solo a lot better.
When another survivor is on the hook you see the aura of all survivors and also the killer if they are in range of hooked survivor
OH when any surv is on the hook,i get it nvm
It does what it did before, but it also shows you everyone else's aura when someone else is on the hook. Basically you aren't taking it just so other people get auras, you get something from it too.
We lived a times where a kindred is a top tier perk and self care is trash lol
Sorta'. Only the person using the perk will see the auras when another survivor is hooked. When the person using the perk is on the hook, then everyone will see each other's auras.
I think if you're running the perk you will always see the auras but others will not see the auras unless you are the one hooked or they are running Kindred too.
Basically, when you are hooked, it affects your teammates, and when someone else is hooked, it affects you. Correct?
That's probably the clearest way to say it, yes.
Cool. I should use it when I play Survivor.
It will stay in the same place.
It's better but if I have to pick between that and DS...
Why is it either that or DS? Are your other 3 slots permanently taken up
Agreed, and even then I don't see it being "top tier". It will definitely be way better, but I'm not giving up the actual top tier perks for it even if I'm solo.
I can't see it being a must have no matter what, but I feel like I'll probably end up running it quite a bit. As long as you aren't in a full team, being able to tell that someone is closer than you or going for the save means you can be way more efficient and do a generator instead.
Yeah the top tier was an over exaggeration haha just thought it would catch more people's attention
Eh, still kind of a beginner perk. If you have good map awareness you don't need it as much. Spine Chill is better for tracking the killer, and Bond is better for tracking other survivors. The only benefit I get out of Kindred personally is when you yourself are on a hook, because then other survivors can coordinate better.
Definite step in the right direction, but still not something I see experienced high rank players using.
New No One Left Behind though...
Bond is limited to 36m. If you run across the map to unhook someone and then see someone else going for the unhook when you're already just about there then you wasted a good chunk of time. This new Kindred can completely eliminate that. It doesn't really have to do with map awareness at all.
Kind of depends because Bond has a limit on how far you can see someone where as Kindred you'll be able to see the other survivors everywhere. Yeah I do agree new No One Left Behind is going to be crazy good for end game saves
Also seeing which direction the killer goes when anyone is hooked is a big buff and extremely useful information. You won't have to wait to see if he has BBQ because he'll be spinning in circles and then head right to you.
Bond is pretty limited, though. I'd only know that someone else is closer if I'm also close to the hook (it only has a 32m range). With Kindred, I can be half way across the map and see exactly where everyone is, whether they're close to me or not.
The thing with Bond is that it's always on. There is no condition except range. And you don't really need to know where survivors are exactly, you just need an idea where they are. Like if I'm running around and I see a survivor go off in this direction with Bond, then someone gets hooked I'll know he is closer and SHOULD be going for the save (if they are a high rank/optimal player you can pretty much always count on this).
Like I won't deny new Kindred has uses, just that you can basically make do with other superior perks and good game awareness instead.
Is the change good? Yes. Does it fix the problem of solos vs swf having a huge gap? Not really. I can only see kindred as basekit as something needed. As long as it requires a perkslot we will keep the gap huge.
Now kindred is a nobrainer. It was good before now it's top tier. Extremely helpful for solo players.
These are the changes we want @PalletOrWhat@Peanits
Of course. It's a trade off either way. Either you get a much more powerful but situational aura reading, or you get a constant but much weaker aura reading. To each their own. I'd rather have Kindred, personally, since it's active when you need it most.
Bond is only better if you need healing or if you want to avoid luring the killer to a gen you see your teammate is repairing. I'd say kindred is better overall though. Knowing who is going for the rescue is already good but you can also see what your other teammate is doing (if they're on a critical gen and maybe need help or if they're being chased in an area you would avoid that area).
The only real time you need aura reading on your teammates is when someone is hooked or like I said, you don't want to bring the killer to a gen that's being worked on.
Solo or not solo, you got visual cues at all times whilst the hook process.
Bond doesn't show the killers aura though, now you'll always be able to tell if the killer is camping close. Well, I assume the killers aura will still show regardless who is hooked as long as you're running Kindred.
Not really, I don't use DS lately but it doesn't seem that useful.
At the moment I use BT, WGLF, We'll Make it and Some random perk.
Kindred could help if you want to play extra sweaty with randoms but what's the point?
