Um...you dont know how the overcharge skill check works....you can keep running and hit it. So how does overcharge counter gen tapping? It doesnt. Next!
And how does making the killer stop mid chase to spend to spend 2 seconds smashing a gen with brutal strength which by the way took the survivor like .5 second to gen tap without the need to stop moving counter gen tap? It doesnt. Next!
I'm talking about the quick taps to stop regression. The ones Devs claim 'are a risk in chases' when they take 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 of a second to do.
I'm not exaggerating by much. I've seen streamers where Survivors run past a gen and it stops regressing for 'no reason'. If you think about it, it took that Survivor 1 frame of animation to stop the gen from regressing. So 1/60th of a second.
I got that number because the game runs at 60 frames per second, which includes frames of animation.
I think gen tapping through ruin is about 60 seconds slower. But i think thats compared to not missing any skill checks while powering through ruin. No idea the times if you miss a few skill checks.
It comes down to is it okay to avoid game mechanics like skill checks if it takes about 60 seconds longer.
It's still an action which hinders them slightly in a chase. Successfully catching them, then kicking the gen afterwards will be the most effective tactic here.
A lot of these comments are just extremely unnecessary and are pretty killer biased.
Also it would be nice if every time I visit the General Discussions tab there's a post complaining about a survivor feature. Especially when it's coming from the same person.
The perk isn't negated. Isn't the whole point of ruin to slow gen progression? Gen tapping progresses the gen slower then normal. The only thing that negates the perk is working through ruin and hitting all great skill checks, which isn't very hard to do anyway.
I'd gladly take someone gen tapping over someone who can hit every great skill check.
honestly if the game is coming down to you 3 gen patrolling with enough people up to gen tap multiple gens then you kinda lost the game and I think it's fair they can do it lol. When i'm playing as killer and it gets to that point it's just kind of oh well you get as many as you can you shouldn't be given an easier advantage to win cause you messed up your early game set up to have a strong late game. gen tapping is also good for tracking when survivors want to stay in an area and is useful information throughout the game. it also baits some survivors into taking hits all to protect a tap for me to down them right next to the gen and destroy it after they hook.
gen tapping isn't really an issue. I see how it's frustrating but you can't expect to have the game hold your hand to a 4k every round.

Just run overcharge Problem solved!
This.
What about it?

I personally run pgtw
Exaggeration of something doesn't help the situation.
Which does nothing because Survivors can hit the skillcheck while running away. It's a bug that has yet to be fixed.

True pair that with huntress lullaby it get better except lullaby a hex :(
I wish Lullaby and perk like Unnerving presence. The closer Killer is, the noti sound before skill check gets shorter.
Just image Unnerving is a Hex, the skill check zone dropped 50% until the Hex destroyed, it would be so lame.
It takes zero skill and can completely negate a perk? No ‘next’ here bud.

Nah you can be happy you can kick a gen boy i wod be happy this will removed again its to easy for killers otherwise
Overcharge, pop, bbq had to have cd of 60 sek in my opinion
Cant believe so many people dont understand what tap the thread is about.
Hint: its neither the one to ignore skillchecks or the cop.
I disagree entirely, I respect someone if they can hit greats all the time and power through ruin over someone who just taps and gets it done anyways.

also didn't think of the people who miss overcharge for tapping
I'm just talking about the time it takes to gen tap. The 1/60th of a second a Survivor can stop a regression while it takes Killers 2 seconds to kick.
It's just another badly thought out mechanic that needs tweaking.
