Restrict Lobbies To The Same Rank Color?

Just a thought, but i'd like more input.

So with this, a lobby can only exist of 1 rank color, doesn't matter which color. (Brown, yellow, green, purple, red.)

And it will not search for other players beyond this color!

A SWF group will, just like now, base the matchmaking on the Survivor with the highest rank, meaning a group consisting of 3 greens & 1 purple will go against a Killer in purple ranks for example.

This way, there's some wiggle room for matchmaking if they can't find people at your rank, but won't put a rank 16 against a rank 5 for example.

Idk, there's probably more to think of, but imma post this anyway.

    It'd be nice if Ranks 10s versing Ranks 4s wasn't the matchmaking system working as intended (as is the case right now).

    The only potential problem I see is brown ranks not being able to match make if there are no new players, but exceptions could be made with their case so that they're still able to play even if there are no other new players.

    I'm honestly sick and tired of playing the game as Survivor and realizing I was playing with Rank 20s the whole time. Which is essentially a 3v1 against the killer at that point.

    I wouldn't mind it being this way, but there is the white rank players to think of.

    Make it within one color, maybe. The problem is SWF intermixed with randoms. How would you manage a red rank with a gray rank? If we get a red rank killer, the randoms will still get a gray rank in a red rank lobby.

    If you made it within one color from the red, though, you'd prob get a purple killer/lobby. I realize red/gray is extreme, but I still get them all the time. And the one color thing also opens up Red/Purple/Green. This also makes purple ranks the most diverse and probably quickest queue lobbies.

    Another issue would be lobby times, which are already horrid depending on role and time you're playing, but that's separate I guess.

    In latest patches they make system "If you play in group with friends, only higher rank survivor member will count for search, not *total ranks / *group members". But this is not working like always, and me in rank 8 killer, play versus 3, 3, 13, 14. Pretty good job so far, nothing new. 

    So hard to make stable "rank lock" system, like, if you at purple rank, play only vs purple because of SWF issue as i exampled below, with two red and two yellow ranks in game vs purple rank killer.

    I would like to only be put with red ranks but I don't think it would work. Lobbies on ps4 take too long as survivor so not allowing matchmaking with lower ranks wouldn't be great.

    Also there are a lot of survivors at red ranks which should really be green ranks.

    I get the consept of it being fair but the last thing I want is to wait 30 mins every match for another 4 red ranks to be avilible

    I don't think the matchmaking system is the way it is by mistake, but rather by design. Although I'm sure there are ways the design could be improved, I believe that, taking into account regions, timezones, queue sizes etc., there really isn't a way to narrow it down much more than it already is without drastically affecting queue times or, in extreme cases, rendering some people unable to find a lobby altogether.

    I'd rather have mismatched games than no games at all.

    I'm a no cause I already have to wait more than 10 mins to get a lobby, if they fixed the game and added new players who got to red ranks I'd say yes

    Oh, i know.

    The current method is to slowly allow wider ranges of ranks to connect to you if you can't find any close to you.

    Apply that to the colors, but limit it to only 1 color up & 1 color down.

    So for example: If it can't find anyone in the same rank color for you after 30 seconds, which in this example is purple, it'll start searching for you in both red & green as well, allowing a LOT more wiggle room.

    Plus, if it still can't find anyone within that range, i dare say there's something else wrong here.

    My only concern there is mostly the difference between yellow & green, i always experience the biggest difference in skill there.

    One suggestion that I've seen posted some time ago (forgive me if I don't remember by who) was that each killer has it's own rank but the ranks would be less, like 5 for example, since it'd take much more time to rank up with each killer and not lose too much progress during rank reset...

    Same with survivors but obviously since survivors are essentially all skin and model variation of one another would have shared ranks like now.

    I don't know if this would work out, but it would be cool to see it as an experiment on the PTB for example

    I'd take significantly shorter queue times over slightly more balanced matches any time.
