Yeah, but this is because the devs didn't think about how nemesis would work on legion. Although, to be fair if you unhook a survivor far away from the killer, they could just down them again if they get to them within the 16 or w/e seconds
At rank 1-2, when a sweaty killer is getting demolished by some genrushing survivors, you can almost bet they are going to start camping, tunneling, and slugging in an attempt to save the game.
BT / DS are pretty much the only answer to it currently, and they are not even that good of an answer to a camping 1 shot killer. You can trade, that's about it. 1 person is probably always going to die every game unless you do something crazy like deliverance off into a key escape.
I'm at rank 1 both survivor and killer. The only time I see camping occur is when the exit gate is power. That is 100% fair game, and you should not be able to combine your BT with their DS to get a free escape.
I see camping happen regularly, and actually get facecamped if I am running a particularly annoying build like head-on and a flashlight. Why do you think almost every single red rank survivor runs BT and DS? Because camping doesn't happen? It is the only answer to it.
Whenever I take the perks off and some scrub killer gets to camp down my teammate and win the game off it, I remember why BT/DS is the meta. At least with them, I can punish it.
So you use a build that even you admit is especially annoying...and you're complaining about them using an equally as annoying play-style?
Of course camping happens. It doesn't happen nearly as much as survivors say it does (unless they literally ask for it by going out of their way to be annoying, like you admit to with your "particularly annoying build" that you are completely aware is annoying).
If you bring in a build made to bully a killer, you don't get to whine when you get camped. Also - if a camper wins the game, you got outplayed. Not by the killer; but by yourself. If the killer is camping one person, the other 3 have all the time they need to do gens and leave. DS and BT aren't run JUST got camping. The reality is, most run BT so they can farm someone in the killers face for BP, and most run DS to get that sweet 60 seconds of untouchability. It's used FAR more in situations that have nothing to do with tunneling than it is with actual tunneling.
There is no outplaying camping unless you are running BT and DS.
If I am dumping on someone with flashlights and a locker build, they really deserve to lose anyways, because I would be dumping on them with any build really. The flashlights into inner strength heals into head-ons are just for style points.
Yes there is. It's called doing gens, and leaving. Force the killer to depip. That is how you outplay camping.
Welcome to DBD.
EDIT: Also, I'll reiterate, you admit to using builds that you know are annoying (which means you're doing it TO be annoying/a bully), so you don't really get to complain about camping in any sense.
I don't care about pips, because the system is busted overall. 4k depips make me lmao every time.
And there's using builds that are annoying, and using builds that are effective. Head-on is pretty much trash compared to every other exhaustion perk. I think it's only real legitimate use is to get you out of a basement locker check.
If I can bully a killer with that build, I could loop them for days without it, and be running 4 second chance perks, or the vault build, or a complete gen rush build instead. The perks are borderline irrelevant.
But if I killer decides to camp because they are getting trashed? You literally need BT and DS to have any answer.
No, he's really right. The counter to camping is and always has been doing gens and leaving. Cucking their fun.
I pretty much 3-4k every time I decide to maliciously camp. I don't ever pip, but it always brings the salt. There is basically no counter to a camping 1 shot killer, or hag, who knows what they are doing.
And that is entirely the fault of the survivors you faced. There is ALWAYS a counter to camping. Again, it's called doing gens and leaving.
And when I am good enough that I can get downs on survivors at 5 gens? How does a solo Q team even know I am camping? I always run perks and killers to lower my terror radius to almost nothing, or play actual stealth killers. By the time they even realize I am camping someone is usually dead.
DS + BT is ok?
If you are taking kindred, that means you can't really have room for the perks that will actually break the camp, because you are not stopping it without BT and DS.
And it has nothing to do with a flex, it's just what is possible in this game. I can start a facecamp at 30-40 seconds into the game and if there is no BT/DS the survivors are screwed. That is a problem.
Trying to break the camp is what ends up rewarding the killer. This is where your argument fails. BT doesn't work if he hook grabs you while you try to unhook (which he will, if he's actually camping), and DS doesn't work unless they get unhooked. You can NOT stop camping. You can only punish it, by doing gens, and leaving. This is what skilled players do.
So they should just watch their team die 1 by 1 on hook, which still ends in a 3k at the minimum by the way, because they took the wrong perks?
Yes. That is how you counter camping. Even with BT, you can't get the save unless they allow it. They will just interrupt the unhook and grab you.
My goodness, you really must be new. You are literally the type of player that makes camping work, and by association, the type of player that makes campers keep camping. Stop feeding them more kills, and don't let them get more than one.
Well thank you for basically admitting it has no true counter. I have maybe 5000+ hours in the game, I would not consider myself new.
I can camp down 2 survivors in the time it will take the rest to bang out the gens, assuming they are just pounding them out and not messing around trying to get the saves (which they usually are), and then get at least 1 more trying to open an exit gate.
The overwhelming majority of the time, gen progress entirely stops, because nobody wants to see their teammate die on first hook and they will hover around trying for the rescue.
That's not admitting anything. The counter is and always has been "Do gens and leave".
EVERY seasoned DBD player knows this. They also know that camping, while scummy, is a legitimate play style. Killers don't have to follow your imaginary survivor rule book.
I am a killer main. There is no counter to the kind of camping I can bring to the table unless you are SWF.
Or, unless you run kindred, do gens, and leave.
But okay, you camp better than anyone else. People die sooner on the hook with you.
Sure, makes sense.
Lol no it shouldn’t
Nah but it should get a downside for sure... the benefit of borrow is so insanely strong and you have only 1 requirement that is anyway done like dafuq? BBQ is the same but it HAD and even GOT more counterplay to that. Borrow only has one... dont tunnel but what if the unhooked guy bodyblock the ######### out of you? Should you just jump over him or what? xD
That's your fault if you don't notice that. Awareness is something you have bring with.
BT is fine as it is. Stop camping the hook or go for the person unhooking in your face.
No. It doesn't make sense either, why would I be tired from lifting a person off a meat hook. I'm not that weak. And can we stop with unnecessary exhaustion, like the ones with add-ons, Mindbreaker, and Nemisis.
Not necessarily. Sometimes the other Survivor is hiding around a corner out of sight, and if you see nothing, it is possible that as you begin to leave, they immediately make the save. Obviously, that's not always what happens, but there are times where they are just able to make the save right in front of your face before you can hit the rescuer.
You know there is a counter to the current version of borrowed time.
It's called not camping the hook.
So how long would it have an exhaustion effect? 40/50/60? If so, tier 3 BT would be used just as the current BT is used. I say the best way to balance the perk would be to give it an exposed effect for a short duration, and even then I don't see a way to "balance" a perk that balances the game. Without BT you're subject to double hooks, and or a slug to apply pressure for the killer. If BT was an exhaustion perk, the cool-down would have to be 2+ minutes in order to make a change to the current game-play we already have at high tier ranks.
