I don't have a laptop on me at the moment so I'll post your thread tomorrow since that's when I'll get my laptop. However, by the time I do get my laptop, you should be freed already but if you're still jailed for some reason then I'll post it for you. Sorry for the inconvenience my friend, I wish I could do more.

I'll post it. I'm free in 11 hours.

Thank you for being so helpful in the last few days! I owe you one :)
  • Poweas

Wait you're jailed?! I think you're the most non toxic person on this site. Everyone else is a little toxic but you're just chill and unbiased. I can't believe they jailed you. :(

  • Nickenzie
You got jailed? Try discussing with the mod that jailed you and they will go through your case. Make sure you have valid points, they won't just take the bars away for free!

I called someone unintelligent after they had repeatedly misrepresented my arguments, spammed the same message on my post: "Are you in denial of reality?!", personally slandered me, trying to paint me as an [BAD WORD] and avoided argumentation at every turn.

I don't think I'm allowed to show the screenshots they show me, but if you'd see some of the comments that are reported; some of them are literally supportive and walk someone through how their beliefs about the issue overlap with mine.

That's why it's strange that such a comment is part of "the reason why you are reported". Almost feel as if a grooming gang reported everything they saw to not having to deal with the arguments.

I really find it a shame that the comments were deleted. It would've been way better if everyone could read them and judge for themselves.

The moderator will more likely ban the other person than un jail me.

8 days of not posting I guess. I'll have to rely on you to do the good work (:

Apparently spamming on other people's post with repeated statements, slander, fallacious arguments and personal attacks is celebrated. I tried to re-aim the discussion towards the subject but instead this person kept spamming. I said something about it in a manner that brings up IQ, and I'm the person that got jailed for that.

Sadly they deleted the comments, so it's no longer visible how ridiculous that was.

Yeah, yeah, you've done nothing wrong, you're completely innocent. It's not like you told people that they themselves do not know what they are thinking, yet you somehow do. Oh wait, you did.
    • AlwaysInAGoodShape
      AlwaysInAGoodShape
Did I not give a perfect and respectful representation of what you believe was "wrong" about my post? Both covering how you agreed with various statements I made throughout the post and that your disagreement wasn't actually a disagreement but in fact; an agreement?

I'm not ashamed at all if that comment was public. It was very reasonable and fair.
    • DocOctober
      DocOctober
You assuming to know what a person thinks and claiming that the person themself does not is a quite an insult. That has nothing to do with being respectful, au contraire, it's disrespectful.
    • AlwaysInAGoodShape

It's called Steal-manning. It's often done in debate. People in the heat of a debate often lack proper judgement. If you can formulate someone else's belief in your words, than that is literally anything but disrespectful, which is why it is done during very respectful and academic debates.

Excusez-moi, give the guy a break for once. What you take offense to is not what I'll take offense to and the same applies to everyone. If his intentions were to bring the subject back at hand then that's completely okay in my opinion since he's maintaining his thread. Besides, he said the guy was spamming him so obviously the spammer was a troll which is very ironic to see you defending such an action.

I've actually been thinking about your survivor idea buffs but I always thought it would run into the anti homogenization issue along with numbers since I suck with hard math calculations. But great job on that.

      @powerbats

I take it that the anti-homogenization issue is mainly an issue that would force you to play a survivor you don't want to for aid play-style.

We don't want that to be the case. We do however want every character to be unique. We can start with 1 premise; a micro buff can be so small that it is small enough to be ignored, regardless of your play-style but big enough to add character to a survivor.

If we assume that this is true, then there should be a point along the slider at which we'd have reached perfection; should claudette's increased healing speed be anywhere between 0-10%, say 0.015%.
We can easily dismiss the 0.015% as problematic, so the question is, where is the ideal point? The current version of increased healing on claudette (5%) is about 0.15% of a perk, meaning you'd need to have this buff 6 times before it'd actually be competing with a perk.

      ---

As for measurement and calculations, I typically stick to translating every type of buff into available generator time. Translating things like increased healing speed into generator time is relatively easy. Translating increased walking speed into generator time is a very dynamic calculation and is determined by variables such as maps, character-skins, etc.

Since we assume that there's a perfect balance point in which we have complete control over making something relevant or obsolete (the 0.015% example), we must make sure that what we consider to be problematic can be changed through something simply 1 number variable.
Non problematic examples would be; 5% healingspeed on Claudette. 2% actionspeed on Laurie when being the obsession.
Problematic examples would be; ace getting 2 copies of the same item, David Tapp being allowed to see totems, as such are slightly harder to change, which therefor need added scrutiny.

      ---

People through rhetoric will more often overestimate insignificance due to judging the concept predominantly. We have some ensuring information about homogenization; killers. Their powers are the difference between night and day. Some killers without perks could outdo a killer with the best. Surely if they see a somewhat healthy representation, survivor's who's strength only differs 1/6th of a perk, should see an even more familiar effect.

If the difference between killers can be 4 perks, then we should expect the homogenization-issue to be 1/32th of the problem. That thought is at least where I get my confidence from (:
