I’ve been spending days now, working on getting good with her. Almost every trap I lay, I take into consideration the survivors running pathways and the camera flick. I shut down loops very quickly and on many occasions, when my webs are placed well, survivor cannot escape, chases end very fast. I’ve learned to reset almost all my traps after a teleport and maintain the webs. I often find myself asking “what could they have done there?”
She doesn’t play like any other Killer in the game, her play style is like that of a spider. You lay your web and wait until the flies get stuck in it. I’m sure if a spider killer was created before her, it’s power would feel somewhat similar. This unique gameplay style puts her on a similar level to both Spirit and Nurse, two other Killers who’s gameplay style revolves around breaking the traditional chase formula.
I think the reason people rate Hag lower than they should is because they lack knowledge and experience playing her. Well, mainly knowledge. I had played Hag a good enough amount to know her basics, but I still didn’t do amazingly with her. After looking at several guides and taking them into account when I play, I’ve learning things I never even knew about or imagined. She is a very tactical Killer who can shut down even the best survivors.
Flashlights are a bother, but they have limited charges and I have infinite traps. Traps being set off? It doesn’t take long to set them back up and instant teleport hit those those who are trying to disarm my webs.
All in all her unique play style combined with her intricate mastery is what seems to make people who don’t put in the time underestimate her.
